• WHEREAS, this Council has received a petition requesting <br />vacation the following alleys: <br />(a) That certain alley approximately 10 feet in width running <br />in a northwesterly direction from 6th Street, S. E. approximately 360 feet <br />in a direction perpendicular to Ware Street including that portion of the <br />alley approximately 280 feet from 6th Street running 80 feet in a south- <br />westerly direction. The alley requested to be closed is commonly known <br />as Jessup's alley. <br />(b) That certain alley approximately 10 feet in width running <br />in a northwesterly direction from 6th Street, S.E. approximately 240 feet <br />in a direction perpendicular to Ware Street and then running in a south- <br />westerly direction for approximately 230 feet. The alley requested to be <br />• <br />closed is commonly <br />known as Conway's alley; and <br />WHEREAS, <br />it appears to Council that the <br />notices required <br />by <br />• <br />§15.1-364 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, have been duly <br />posted; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville that James P. Borden, Mason S. Byrd and H. P. Winn, Jr. <br />be and the same are hereby appointed as viewers to view such street and <br />report in writing to Council what inconvenience, if any, would result from <br />the vacation thereof. <br />(/s <br />
