• BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE that the City Manager of the City of Charlottesville is authorized, for and on behalf of the City of Charlottesville, to make application to the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation, Commonwealth of Virginia, for a grant of regional transportation special revenues, budget item 621, paragraph 9, of the 1978 Acts of the General Assembly - Chapter 850, State aid for administration, in the amount of $50,000 ($25,000 for the first year, fiscal year commencing July 1, 1978, and $25,000 for the second year, fiscal year commencing July 1, 1979) to defray the administrative expenses of the City of Charlottesville, and to accept from the Virginia Department of Highways grants in such amount as may be awarded in accordance with the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation Commission resolution dated August 17 1978; and to authorize the City Manager to furnish to the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation such documents and other information as may be required for processing the grant application. The Council of the City of Charlottesville certifies that the funds shall be used in accordance with the requirements of the Appropriation Act of 1978; that the City of Charlottesville will provide matching funds on a one to one ratio as required in such Act; that the record of receipts and expenditure of funds granted the City of Charlottesville as authorized in the 1978 Acts of the General Assembly (Chapter 850) may be subject to audit by the Department of Highways and Transportation and by the State Auditor of Public Accounts; and that funds granted to the City of Charlottesville for • defraying the expenses of Administration of the City of Charlottesville shall be used only for such purposes as authorized in the Acts of the General Assembly.
