C� <br />RESOLUTION <br />February, 1982 <br />WHEREAS, on January 26, 1982, Delegates I✓.itchell Van <br />Yahres and James Murray introduced House Bill No. 349 to the <br />Virginia General Assembly for the purpose of obtaining state <br />and local tax exemption under Title 58 of the Virginia Code for <br />the Hearthstone Childrens' House, Inc., (a copy attached); and <br />WHEREAS, the Hearthstone Childrens' House, Inc. has <br />already qualified under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal <br />Revenue Code as exempt from federal taxation; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hearthstone Childrens' House, Inc. has been <br />established as a non -stock, non-profit corporation to fulfill <br />. the charitable and benevolent objective of providing housing <br />for families of children receiving medical treatment at the <br />University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Charlottesville, after <br />considering this matter at its regularly scheduled meeting of <br />City Council on February 1, 1982, does hereby endorse, support <br />and approve House Bill No. 349 and the tax exempt status of the <br />Hearthstone Childrens' House, Inc., under state and local law. <br />FRANCIS C.
