RESOLUTION _ WHEREAS, the Virginia Commission of Outdoor Recreation, in connection with Wells Fargo Bank, provides funds to assist political subdivisions of the State of Virginia in developing Wells Fargo Gamefields; and WHEREAS, there are urgent needs within the City of Charlottes- ville to develop such a facility; and WHEREAS, the development of this facility is deemed of high priority by said Charlottesville Department of Parks and Recreation and shall be located within Pen Park; and WHEREAS, in order to attain funding assistance from the Virginia Commission of Outdoor Recreation and Wells Fargo Bank, it is necessary that the City of Charlottesville guarantee a propor- tionate share of the cost thereof; and WHEREAS, the proportionate project share is funded twenty five hundred dollars ($2,500) by the Virginia Commission of Outdoor Recreation, twenty five hundred ($2,500) by Wells Fargo Bank, and the remainder of costs, including the value of volunteer labor required for a portion of the installation through community dona- tions, which have already been pledged; now, therefore, • BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL of the City of Charlottesville that the City Manager is hereby authorized to cause such information or materials as may be necessary to be provided to the appropriate State agency and to enter into such agreements as may be necessary to permit the formulation, approval and funding of the Wells Fargo Gamefield Fitness Facility Project; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City of Charlottesville gives its assurance that the funds needed as the proportionate share of the cost of the approved program will be provided through community donations; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Charlottesville gives its assurance that the requirements of this program and the Virginia Outdoors Fund Fiscal Procedures will be complied with in the administration of this project; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Charlottesville gives its assurance that all other applicable State and Federal regulations governing such expenditure of funds provided by Virginia Commission of Outdoor Recreation will be complied with in the administration of this project; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Virginia Commission of Outdoor Recreation and the Wells Fargo Bank National Association are respectfully requested to assist in the prompt approval and funding of the Wells Fargo Gamefield Fitness Facility Project in order to enhance the standard of recreational enjoyment for all our citizenry.
