0 <br />11 <br />0 <br />RESOLUTION <br />SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION FOR VHDA <br />MORTGAGE FUNDING FOR CHARTER HOUSE <br />WHEREAS, the Region Ten Community Services Board operates <br />a facility known as Charter House, located within the City of <br />Charlottesville, to provide housing for public inebriates and <br />other alcohol or drug dependent persons who would otherwise <br />be without adequate shelter; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council recognizes that Char -ter House <br />provides an essential community service and is sorely in need <br />of expanded facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the Region Ten Community Services Board has made <br />application to the Emergency Shelter Financing Program of the <br />Virginia Housing Development Authority for mortgage funding in <br />the amount of $40,000 to enlarge and improve the facilities of <br />Charter House; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville, Virginia that the City supports the application of <br />Region Ten Community Services Board for mortgage funding from <br />the Virginia Housing Development Authority and urges its <br />speedy approval. <br />Approved by Council <br />April 20, 1987 <br />C er- �Counc <br />
