• RESOLUTION <br />APPROVING LUMP SUM SETTLEMENT <br />OF A WORKERS' COMPENSATION CLAIM <br />• <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville, Virginia: <br />It appearing to be in the best interests of the City, <br />and it being at the request of our former employee, who is <br />represented by counsel, we hereby approve a lump sum <br />settlement of a workers' compensation claim in the amount of <br />$45,000, less payments made since March 1, 1988, all as <br />agreed between staff and the employee (whose name is not <br />stated here for reasons of confidentiality). The settlement <br />includes our obligation to pay medical expenses for one year <br />from the date the Industrial Commission enters an order <br />approving the settlement. The Director of Finance is hereby <br />authorized to make payment from the Risk Management Fund in <br />accordance with the settlement terms. <br />The approval hereby given for the entire settlement is <br />conditioned upon formal approval of the settlement by the <br />Industrial Commission of the State of Virginia. <br />Approved by Council <br />October 17, 1988 <br />1 k of Council <br />• 88-6-54 <br />
