CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE
• Office of the City Attorney
Room 303. City Hall
P.O. Box 911 • Charlottesville, Virginia • 22902
Telephone 804-971-3131
July 20, 1988
Joseph W. Wright, Jr.
President, Premier Real Estate
P. O. Box 6339
Charlottesville, VA 22906
RE: Sale of Turnaround Land on Sunset Avenue
Dear Joe:
We obtained authority to offer you $2,000 in behalf of
the City in exchange for the 4,304 square feet of land owned
• by the Sunset Avenue Land Trust shown in red on the attached
plat. As I understood your and my last phone conversation,
that amount is acceptable to you if our office will prepare
the necessary deed to the City and obtain the necessary plat
showing the property to be conveyed.
Accordingly, I am asking that you evidence your consent
to sell that property shown in red on the attached plat for
the price referenced above under the conditions outlined by
signing a copy of this letter and returning it to me.
This letter contract would be contingent upon our
obtaining formal Council approval directing the Deputy City
Manager to sign the agreement and approval of an
appropriation of the purchase price, something which we hope
to get done during the first two weeks of August.
The City greatly appreciates your cooperative attitude.
Without it, we would have had difficulty in meeting the
September 1, 1988 deadline for getting the settlement
effected and the turnaround contruction completed. The
street is scheduled to be legally closed at that point in
time.
•
