RESOLUTION <br />• GRANTING SPECIAL USE PERMIT <br />TO McINTIRE SPORTS CENTER <br />WHEREAS, Allied Realty Company, owner of the property known as <br />the McIntire Sports Center at 1729 and 1731 Allied Street, has <br />requested a special use permit for an amusement arcade with video <br />games and up to four pool tables at the McIntire Sports Center; <br />this property being further identified as portions of Parcels <br />90.10A and 90.11 on City Real Property Tax Map #34, having <br />approximately 115.5 feet of frontage on Allied Street and <br />containing approximately 13,398 square feet of land, or .31 acres; <br />WHEREAS, following a joint public hearing before this Council <br />and the Planning Commission, duly advertised and held on March 9, <br />1993, this Council finds that such use will conform to the criteria <br />applicable to special permits generally under Chapter 34 of the <br />City Code, and to the specific criteria for special use permits in <br />Section 34-439 of said Code; now, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia that a special use permit is hereby granted to Allied <br />Realty Company for an amusement arcade with video games and up to <br />four pool tables at the McIntire Sports Center. <br />The approval of this special use permit is conditioned upon <br />• the following: <br />1. Approval of the site plan amendment with the addition of <br />adequate bicycle storage facilities in accordance with <br />the City Code. <br />2. The owners will be responsible for providing security <br />inside and outside of the building and the parking lot, <br />by providing video monitoring inside and outside the <br />building and the parking lot, and staff monitoring of the <br />outside and parking lot every half hour. <br />3. No minors under the age of 18 years will be allowed in <br />the center during school hours, unless involved in an <br />activity sponsored by the school. No children under the <br />age of 18 years may use the sports center facilities <br />after 11:00 p.m. <br />Approved by Council <br />March 15, 1993 <br />erk of City Council <br />• <br />
