A RESOLUTION <br />TO AUTHORIZE ACCEPTANCE AS A GIFT OF CERTAIN PROPERTY <br />NEAR THE IVY CREEK NATURAL AREA <br />FROM MARTIN AND ANNA BETTS. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville and the County of Albemarle are the owners of <br />record of certain property identified as the Ivy Creek Natural Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the property is managed by the Ivy Creek Foundation for the benefit of the <br />public for open space, passive recreation and related purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, Martin B. Betts, D.V.M., and Anna R. Betts are the owners of record of <br />a small triangular-shaped parcel approximately .25 acres in size adjacent to the Ivy Creek <br />Natural Area; and <br />WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. Betts no longer have any need for the property, and would <br />Re to donate this parcel to the City and the County to be utilized as and become part of the Ivy <br />Creek Natural Area; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Albemarle by resolution approved December 4, 1996, <br />accepted the donation of said property to be added to the Ivy Creek Natural Area; now, <br />• therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the City <br />Council hereby accepts the donation of the above-described property for the purposes described <br />herein and authorizes the City Manager to execute a deed, in form approved by the City <br />Attorney, and substantially in the same form as attached hereto. The City Attorney is hereby <br />authorized to take whatever steps are necessary to effect the closing of said property conveyance. <br />Approved by Council <br />December 16, 1996 <br />�k of City Council <br />• <br />
