0 <br />• <br />• <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville and the Counties of Albemarle, <br />Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson have agreed to <br />participate in the Thomas Jefferson Regional HOME Consortium, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission prepared <br />the Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy for the <br />Consortium with the assistance of an advisory panel appointed <br />by local governing bodies, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville agreed to act as the lead agency <br />in submitting the regional program for designation as a <br />Consortium, and <br />WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development <br />has recognized the Consortium as such and offered a contract <br />to the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission, and <br />WHEREAS, the participating localities are in agreement to designate <br />the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission as the <br />administrative agency and managing body for the purpose of <br />developing the Regional Comprehensive Housing Affordability <br />Strategy (CHAS), conducting the Environmental Review, <br />contracting with local non -profits designated by the local <br />governing body to implement the program, and other <br />administrative duties to meet all federal requirements, <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Charlottesville City Council <br />authorizes the City Manager to sign a resolution which <br />authorizes the Planning District to administer the Thomas <br />Jefferson Regional HOME Consortium program. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Thomas Jefferson Planning District <br />Commission is required to report to the local governing body <br />on a quarterly basis regarding the status of activities being <br />undertaken by local housing programs and the availability of <br />funds for eligible housing activities. <br />Approved by Council <br />November 3, 1997 <br />rk of City Cou cil <br />
