• RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXTENDED <br />TERM OF OFFICE FOR ALBEMARLE COUNTY <br />JAIL AUTHORITY BOARD APPOINTEE <br />WHEREAS, the County of Albemarle desires to extend the service of the citizen <br />appointee to the Albemarle -Charlottesville Jail Authority Board (the "Jail Board") <br />until the completion of the expansion of the Albemarle -Charlottesville Regional <br />Jail (the "Jail"); and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Albemarle's citizen appointee is completing his third full <br />term and cannot be reappointed under the terms of the Albemarle -Charlottesville <br />Regional Jail Authority Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the Jail Board and the Member Jurisdictions concur that the services of <br />Mitchell Neuman, the Albemarle County citizen appointee, would be beneficial to, <br />and in the best interest of, the completion of the Jail expansion project; and <br />WHEREAS, due to these special circumstances it is desirable to authorize an additional _ <br />two year term on the Jail Board for Mitchell Neuman. <br />• <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT CONCURRENTLY RESOLVED BY THE <br />ALBEMARLE-CHARLOTTESVILLE REGIONAL JAIL AUTHORITY, <br />THE BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS OF ALBEMARLE AND NELSON <br />COUNTIES AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF CHARLOTTESVILLE THAT: <br />Notwithstanding Section 2.2 of the Albemarle -Charlottesville Regional Jail <br />Authority Agreement, Albemarle County may reappoint Mitchell Neuman as its <br />citizen representative on the Jail Board to serve an additional two year term. At <br />the conclusion of such special two year term Section 2.2 of the Agreement shall, <br />again, be controlling in all respects. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Charlottesville, this :7"'� day of <br />December, 1998. <br />Attested: <br />Jeans ox, Clerk of Council <br />
