• <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTINUATION OF <br />AND AMENDING CITY MANAGER'S EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the <br />Employment Agreement between the City Council and the City Manager, dated November 1, <br />1995, as amended on June 26, 1996, August 4, 1997, and June 1, 1998, is hereby amended <br />effective with the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1999 as set forth more fully below: <br />Salary - Section 6 of said contract, as amended, will change so that the City <br />Manager's base salary shall be increased by 6.25% effective on July 1, 1999. <br />Retirement - The second paragraph of Section 13 of said contract entitled <br />"Retirement Benefits" as amended on August 4, 1997, is hereby amended to read <br />in its entirety as follows: "In addition to the foregoing, the City shall also make <br />an annual contribution on behalf of the City Manager ("Manager") to the ICMA- <br />RC retirement plan, or a similar deferred compensation plan of the Manager's <br />choice, in an amount equivalent to 10% of the Manager's annual salary in the year <br />of the contribution. Any further contribution to ICMA-RC or other deferred <br />compensation plan beyond that amount shall be the sole responsibility of the City <br />• Manager." <br />Insurance Benefits - A new Section 12(C) shall be added to said contract section <br />entitled "Insurance/Benefits", to read as follows: <br />C. The City will pay premiums, not to exceed $2,500 per year, on <br />behalf of the City Manager on a life insurance policy issued by a <br />mutually acceptable insurer. This insurance coverage will be in <br />addition to the standard City -paid life insurance provided to all full- <br />time employees. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all other terms of said 1995 contract, as amended, <br />are hereby reaffirmed, ratified, and renewed; and that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign a <br />new contract to be dated July 1, 1999, between the City Manager and the City, which new <br />document shall be under the same terms and conditions as the 1995 contract, as amended herein <br />and as changed by intervening amendments approved by City Council in 1996, 1997 and 1998, <br />iabove, all in a form to be approved by the City Attorney. <br />Approved by Council�� <br />July 19, 1999 (,CJ�rk of City cil <br />
