December 1, 2000 <br />City Council <br />City of Charlottesville, Virginia <br />Industrial Development Authority <br />of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia <br />Proposed Financing for The University of Virginia Health Services Foundation <br />The University of Virginia Health Services Foundation ("HSF") has requested that the <br />Industrial Development Authority of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia ("Authority"), <br />recommend approval to the City Council of the financing of HSF's acquisition of certain real and <br />personal property in Virginia, including the acquisition and installation of a gamma knife© (a <br />specialized neurosurgical device) to be located at the University of Virginia Medical Center in <br />the City of Charlottesville, Virginia ('Project"), by the issuance of revenue bonds by the <br />• Industrial Development Authority of Louisa County ("Louisa Authority") in an amount not to <br />exceed $5,100,000 ("Bonds"). Because a portion of the Bonds will be used to finance part of the <br />Project which will be located in the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, Section 15.2-4905 of the <br />Code of Virginia, as amended, requires concurrence by the Council with the inducement <br />resolution adopted by the Louisa Authority on November 16, 2000. <br />The Authority has conducted a public hearing on the proposed financing of the Project <br />and has recommended that you approve the issuance of the Bonds as required by Section 147(f) <br />of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, and Section 15.2-4906 of the Code of <br />Virginia of 1950, as amended. <br />Attached hereto is (1) a certificate evidencing the conduct of the public hearing and the <br />action taken by the Authority, (2) the Fiscal Impact Statement required pursuant to Virginia <br />Code Section 15.2-4907, and (3) the form of resolution suggested by counsel to evidence your <br />approval. <br />Secretary, In strial Devel ment Authority <br />of the City o Charlottesville, Virginia <br />0 <br />
