. for any outside employment or business activity performed during times when the <br />Manager would normally be performing duties pursuant to this agreement. <br />SECTION 10. AUTOMOBILE <br />The Manager's duties require that he shall have the exclusive and unrestricted use <br />at all times during his employment with the City of Charlottesville of an automobile <br />provided to him by the City. The City shall be responsible for liability, property damage <br />and comprehensive insurance, and for the purchase, operation, maintenance, repair and <br />regular replacement of said automobile. <br />SECTION 11. VACATION AND SICK LEAVE BENEFITS <br />The Manager shall be entitled to five weeks annual. leave, as provided in the City's <br />Standard Operating Procedure for employees with at least 25 years of service, with a <br />maximum accrual of six weeks, and shall accrue three weeks sick leave each year, as <br />provided in the City's Standard Operating Procedure for employees with at least 25 years <br />of service, with no maximum accrual. He shall be entitled to any other categories of <br />leave and paid holidays on the same basis as other City employees. <br />SECTION 12. INSURANCE BENEFITS <br />• A. The City will provide at City expense family health care insurance for the <br />Manager equal to that provided to other full time employees of the City. <br />B. The City will pay premiums, not to exceed $2,500 per year, on behalf of the <br />City Manager on a life insurance policy issued by a mutually acceptable insurer. This <br />insurance coverage will be in addition to the standard City -paid life insurance provided to <br />all full-time employees. <br />SECTION 13. RETIREMENT BENEFITS <br />The City Manager's employment date of November 16, 1981 shall be the effective <br />date for his participation in the City's Supplemental Retirement or Pension Plan ("the <br />City Retirement Plan" or "Plan"). As such, the City Manager's defined benefits under the <br />Plan shall be the same as those benefits owed to any other similarly situated employee <br />within said Plan. <br />To reflect the Manager's responsibility for supervision of the City Fire Department <br />and Police Department, as set forth in Section 5(f) of the City Charter, the Manager is <br />designated as and shall assume the role of the City's Director of Public Safety.
