RESOLUTION • WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Charlottesville has created a Housing Advisory Committee and provided funding for the provision of Affordable Housing units and assistance to low income residents with housing needs, and WHEREAS, the Housing Advisory Committee has proposed certain policies to the City Council to guide the expenditure of those housing funds, and WHEREAS, there is some confusion regarding the composition and role of the Housing Advisory Committee from this point forward, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Charlottesville as follows: That the three attached housing policies are adopted: Policy 1: Objectives for Use of Affordable Housing Funds and Criteria/Priorities for Award of Funds. Policy 2: Incentives the City can provide to development with Affordable Housing Units. Policy 3: Criteria for Awarding Mixed Use Incentive Funds/Strategic Investment Funds — Revolving Loan Funds. • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Housing Advisory Committee (HAC) is reaffirmed with the following conditions: 1. Terms of all members shall be for two years with terms of those currently in place beginning January 1, 2009 for purposes of establishing a beginning date. 2. Members are appointed by the City Council and serve at the pleasure of City Council. 3. The role of the Committee is as outlined in the attached charge. Changes to the charge may be suggested by the HAC. 4. Membership of the HAC is confirmed as follows with all positions established for two year terms to begin on January 1, 2009 although current members will continue to serve until that date.
