RESOLUTION <br />• WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Charlottesville has created a Housing Advisory <br />Committee and provided funding for the provision of Affordable Housing units and assistance to low <br />income residents with housing needs, and <br />WHEREAS, the Housing Advisory Committee has proposed certain policies to the City Council to <br />guide the expenditure of those housing funds, and <br />WHEREAS, there is some confusion regarding the composition and role of the Housing Advisory <br />Committee from this point forward, <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Charlottesville as <br />follows: <br />That the three attached housing policies are adopted: <br />Policy 1: Objectives for Use of Affordable Housing Funds and Criteria/Priorities for Award of <br />Funds. <br />Policy 2: Incentives the City can provide to development with Affordable Housing Units. <br />Policy 3: Criteria for Awarding Mixed Use Incentive Funds/Strategic Investment Funds — <br />Revolving Loan Funds. <br />• BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Housing Advisory Committee (HAC) is reaffirmed with <br />the following conditions: <br />1. Terms of all members shall be for two years with terms of those currently in place <br />beginning January 1, 2009 for purposes of establishing a beginning date. <br />2. Members are appointed by the City Council and serve at the pleasure of City Council. <br />3. The role of the Committee is as outlined in the attached charge. Changes to the charge may <br />be suggested by the HAC. <br />4.
