• RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Charlottesville appointed a Citizens Committee
on Environmental Sustainability (CCoES) in December 2006 to address ways in which the
City of Charlottesville can become more sustainable, and
WHEREAS, the CCoES has recommended that city projects use an environmental checklist
to consider the environmental impact of their development plans, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that this checklist should be followed for all City
projects, and that in addition all project managers shall verify their zoning before initiating a
project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Charlottesville as follows:
That the attached advisory environmental checklist be used by City Council as they
evaluate or initiate any capital improvement projects, or consider a project proposed
by the public.
• That all City departments be required to use the checklist for all capital improvement
• projects. For new projects, this checklist will used as one of the key references for
projects that are submitted to the City Manager at the time of capital budget requests.
For projects already funded, responses to the checklist items will be submitted along
with the site plan application, as required by NDS.
That, in the spirit of continual improvement, this advisory environmental checklist
be reviewed by staff on an annual basis to ensure that it is appropriate, effective, and
inclusive of applicable issues.
• That the attached zoning verification form will be completed as directed by all
project managers for all projects and submitted to the zoning administrator for review
and approval.
Approved by Council
September 2, 2008
,
LIC.of>f u.we-
0
City Council
