148 <br /> <br /> Mr. Pezzoli stated that the School Board has appointed <br />Mr. Herb Cottrill, Mr. Tom McLernon and Mr. Bill Lucy to <br />serve on a committee to look into short and long-term State <br />funding of the schools, the data used by the State to make <br />this determination, and the programmatic implications of the <br />funding. Mr. Pezzoli requested that the City Council <br />appoint additional representatives to the committee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck requested that the School Board provide a <br />written explanation of the committee and its charge. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Dunbar of the School administration, reviewed <br />the renovation projects. Mr. Dunbar stated that renovatiOns <br />at Clark School are on schedule; Venable may~be a few weeks <br />late getting started as State approval has not yet been <br />approved~ the addition at Buford is on schedule~ and the <br />interior work at Walker will begin following the end of <br />school. <br /> <br /> Dr. Cibbarelli stated that contingency plans would be <br />made in case any of the renovations are not completed on <br />schedule. <br /> <br /> Ms. Andrea Robinson of the School administration, <br />described the Distinguished Teacher Award ceremony whiCh <br />held been held the previous evening. <br /> <br /> Dr. Cibbarelli stated that the Distinguished Teacher <br />Award ceremony was a celebration of the teaching profession. <br />%P.~esident~eting~ was adjourned~e~k~_~u-~ ~ <br /> <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Thursday, June <br />16, 1988 AT 7:00 p.m. IN THE City Manager's Office. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Executive session to discuss personnel matters as exempted <br />by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act.
