Edwards, seconded by Mr. Towe, Ms. <br /> Ann Washington and Ms. Hannah Lee (youth representative) were <br /> unanimously appointed to serve three-year terms on the~Youth <br /> Commission. These terms will expire on September 30, 1991. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,100 - DONATION TO COMMUNITY ATTENTION HOME <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The appropriation of the $1,100 donation to Community <br />Attention Home which was offered at the October 17th meeting <br />was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Rev. <br />Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $1,100.00, received <br />as proceeds from the Ralph Sampson 3 on 3 Basketball <br />Tournament, is hereby accepted as a donation and appropriated <br />to account code 13-162-062131 in the Community Attention Fund <br />to benefit the Job Skills Program. In accordance with the <br />wishes of the donors, the money shall be placed in an account <br />which accrues interest and which is segregated from other <br />fund accounts. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: ~60,342.04 - SEIZURE PROCEEDS (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $60,342.04 appropriation of seizure proceeds which <br />was offered at the October 17th meeting was approved by the <br />following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. <br />Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of <br />Charlottesville has received two checks from the U. S. <br />Department of Justice, one in the amount of $42,570.00 and <br />one in the amount of $17,772.04, representing proceeds from <br />the sale of assets lawfully seized by the City Police <br />Department from persons subsequently convicted of drug <br />related crimes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said funds have been deposited with the <br />Treasurer of the City~ and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the law authorizes the CitY Police Department <br /> to receive and spend such proceeds provided the expenditure <br /> is on drug related law enforcement matters; now, therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the ~Council off,the City of ~ <br /> Charlottesville that such funds totalling $60,342.04 be~and <br /> are hereby appropriated to police investigation expenditure <br /> account 05-270-041110. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $21,000 i? LEGAL FEES FOR MCGUIRE, WOODS, BATTLE <br />& BOOTHE (2nd-reading) <br /> <br /> The ~21,000 appropriation for legal fees for McGuire, <br />Woods, Battle and Boothe which was offered at the October <br />17th meeting was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />CharlottesviLle, Virginia that the sum of $21,000 is hereby <br />appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General <br />Fund to expenditure account 05-301-091060 for transfer to the <br />Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority for <br />attorneys' fees and costs incurred by CRHA in successfully <br />defending a suit filed by Little, Parsley & Cluverius in <br />1987. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $50,000 - VHDA GRANT FOR RENTAL REHABILITATION <br />PROGRAM (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> <br />
