Edwards, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />CHAPTER 31 OF THE CITY CODE, 1976, AS AMENDED, BY ADDING <br />SECTIONS 31-17.1, 31-24.1, AND 31-162.1, RELATING TO CHANGES <br />IN THE ZONING ORDINANCE" was offered and carried over ~to the <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: 1989 LICENSE TAX ROLL-BACK <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the Virginia General Assembly <br />has previously placed a maximum on the rates for business <br />licenses and as Charlottesville rates are above the maximum, <br />they have had to be reduced over time. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Rev. Edwards, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 15-111, 15-112 AND 15-114 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, IN ORDER TO REDUCE THE <br />RATE OF TAXATION ON CERTAIN CLASSIFICATIONS OF BUSINESS, <br />PROFESSIONAL AND OCCUPATIONAL LICENSES" was offered and <br /> <br /> <br />
