28 <br /> <br />Council in approximately two weeks. <br /> <br /> Dr. Joseph Mooney, Chairman of the School Board, <br />stated that there were some projects, such as lighting <br />additional fields at Charlottesville High Schools, which <br />may not continue to be a high priority. <br /> <br /> Ms. Margaret Carter~ Planning Commission member, <br />stated that a commitment had been made to not increase <br />the impact on the neighborhood surrounding Charlottesville <br />High School. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck stated that he agreed that the impact on the <br />neighborhood Should be taken into consideration, but did <br />not think that a firm commitment had been made to them <br />concerning future projects. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck questioned the necessity of adding <br />additional tennis court lighting when it appeared that <br />use of the tennis courtS was down. <br /> <br /> Undergrounding of utilities was discussed, and it was <br />pointed out that Virginia Power had presented cost <br />estimates for undergrounding which cost approximately <br />$200,000 per block. <br /> <br /> Mr. Michael Bednar, Chairman of the Planning <br />Commission, stated that he felt bricking of side streets <br />on the downtown mall should be included in the Plan. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck stated that there were decisions still to be <br />made concerning Urban Design for the City which were not <br />included in the Plan. <br /> <br /> It was agreed that a public hearing would be held <br />concerning the Capital Improvements Program and a decision <br />would be made by the end of October. <br /> <br /> Concerning tennis courts proposed for the south side <br />of the city, Mr. Buck stated that a public hearing was <br />planned for the second meeting in September to discuss the <br />issue. <br /> <br />adjourned. <br /> <br /> NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Tuesday, <br />September 2, 1986 AT 7:10 p.m. IN THE Mayor's Office. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Executive session to discuss personnel matters as <br />exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom <br />of Information Act. <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox (signed) <br /> <br /> MAYOR'S OFFICE - September 2, 1986 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mr. Towe. <br /> <br /> On.motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, <br />Council voted to meet in executive session to discuss <br />personnel matters as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of <br />the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. <br /> <br /> <br />
