Ms. Mueller stated that the report <br />focused on: 1) lighting, 2) bus stops, and 3) <br />inspections. Ms. Mueller stated that the main issue had <br />been on improving lighting throughout the City and she <br />recommended that 43 new street lights be added and 11 <br />street lights be upgraded. Ms. Mueller stated that it <br />would take approximately 6 months to install the new <br />lights due to the City's policy of notifying all affected <br />residents and having VEPCO install them. <br /> <br /> Responding to a question concerning the cost from Mr. <br />Buck, Mrs. Mueller stated that it would cost the City <br />approximately $2,000 to $3,000 to upgrade the lights and <br />another $5,000 to $6,000 in yearly energy charges from <br />VEPCO. Ms. Muel!er stated that there were funds in the <br />current budget to carry out the recommendations. <br /> <br /> It was decided that a letter would be sent to <br />affected residents explaining the concerns of the City and <br />the reasons for recommending the additional lighting and <br />that the issue would be discussed with the presidents of <br />the neighborhood associations. <br /> <br /> <br />
