Absent: Mr. Buck. <br /> <br />mtiOn Act. <br /> <br /> eetlng <br /> <br /> President <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, <br />Council unanimously voted to meet in executive session to <br />discuss personnel matters (City Attorney interviews) as <br />exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of <br /> <br />was adjourned. <br /> <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER - September 21, 1987 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleason, Dr. Hall, Mro Towe. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the <br />minutes of the August 13th meeting were unanimously approved <br />as presented. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Dr. Hall, the <br />minutes of the September 2nd meeting were unanimously <br />approved as amended. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Towe, the <br />minutes of the September 8th meeting were unanimously <br />approved as presented. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the <br />minutes of the September 16th meeting were approved as <br />presen~ed~ with Mr. Buck abstaining. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Tom Fitch, DireCtor of Downtown Charlottesville, <br />Inc., requested that Council designate Court Days (October 2 <br />- 4th) as a special event which will allow suspension of the <br />vending policy concerning limitation on location and numbers <br />of vendors and also requested that the vendor fees be <br />waived. Mr. Fitch stated that in the past vendors have been <br />located in Lee Park during Court Days and were not regulated <br />by the vending ordinance, but because of the size of Court <br />Days, the vendors may be located on 2nd Street adjacent to <br />Lee Park. Mr. Fitch stated that he has requested that 2nd <br />Street be closed which is being handled administratively by <br />the City. <br /> <br /> <br />
