191 <br /> <br /> NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Tuesday, April 14, 1998 <br />AT 7:00 p.m. IN THE Second Floor Conference P`oom. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> ORDINANCE: Annual Tax Levy (2nd reading) <br /> ORDINANCE: Annual Appropriation (2nd reading) <br /> RESOLUTION: Eminent Domain - Gas Easement on Grove P`oad <br /> RESOLUTION: Eminent Domain - Gas Easement on Yorktown Drive <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox (signed) <br /> <br /> SECOND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM - April 14, 1998 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: Mr. <br />Cox, Ms. Daugherty, Ms. Richards, Ms. Slaughter, Mr. Toscano (arrived late). <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: EMINENT DOMAIN - GAS EASEMENT ON GP, OVE ROAD <br /> <br /> Mr. Clyde Gouldman, City Attorney, explained that the City is installing a gas line <br />which requires acquisition of easements on private property, and there was a difference of <br />opinion as to the value of two properties, resulting in the need for eminent domain <br />proceedings. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Richards, seconded by Ms. Daugherty, the resolution authorizing <br />eminent domain for a gas easement on Grove Road was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION: EMINENT DOMAIN - GAS EASEMENT ON YORKTO%q~I DRIVE <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms, Daugherty, seconded by Mr. Cox, the resolution authorizing eminent <br /> domain for a gas easement on Yorktown Drive was offered and carried over to the next <br /> meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE: ANNUAL TAX LEVY (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE ANNUAL TAX <br /> LEVY ON VARIOUS CLASSES OF PROPERTY FOR THE PAYMENT OF INTEREST <br /> AND RETIREMENT OF THE CITY DEBT, FOP, THE SUPPORT OF THE CITY <br /> GOVERNMENT AND CITY SCHOOLS, AND FOR OTHER PUBLIC PURPOSES," <br /> which was offered at the April 6th meeting, was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br /> Cox, Ms. Daugherty, Ms. Richards, Ms. Slaughter. Noes: None. Absent: Mr. Toscano. <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE: ANNUAL APPROPRIATION (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "P, ESOLUTION ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY <br /> OF CHAA1LOTTESVILLE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1998, AND <br /> EI',IDING JUNE 30, 1999 AND PROVIDING FOP. THE ANNUAL APPP.OPRIATION OF <br /> FUNDS FOP. SUCH FISCAL YEAR," which was offered at the April 6th meeting, was <br /> approve by the £ollowing vote.
