APPROPRIATION: $9,000 - Teens Give (carried over) <br /> <br />f RESOLUTION: <br /> <br />$10,000 - Festival Funds <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that <br />the funds appropriated in the fiscal year 1998-99 budget for local "festivals" ($20,000) <br />are hereby approved to be distributed as follows: <br /> <br />Virginia Festival of the Book - $10,000 <br />First Night Virginia - $2,000 <br />Governor Jefferson's Thanksgiving Festival - $3,000 <br />Virginia Film Festival - $5,000 <br /> <br />g. RESOLUTION: <br /> <br />Central Shenandoah Training Academy <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Center <br />was originally organized in I973 on the campus of Blue Ridge Community College to <br />provide basic and in-service training for law enforcement personnel; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Training Center now serves more than 70 criminal justice <br />agencies serving more than 50 political subdivisions and localities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Training Center's membership has remained stable and <br />reasonably constant over many years; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Training Center has moved on two previous occasions because <br />it has outgrown the space available to it; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the General Assembly has in recent years amended the Virginia <br />Code to allow a regional criminal justice training academy to incur indebtedness without <br />obligating a member government unit; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Training Center's charter needs to be revised and reconstituted <br />as the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Academy; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-1747, that the Charter <br />of Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Academy, a copy of which is attached <br />to this resolution and incorporated herein by reference, be and it is hereby ADOPTED, <br />and said governmental unit joins as a member fo this Academy formed for the principal <br />purpose of establishing and conducting criminal justice training and education for <br />criminal justice personnel. <br /> <br /> This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption, and the Clerk is directed to <br />forward an attested copy to the Executive Director, Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice <br />Training Academy, 211 12th Street, Waynesboro, Virginia 22980. <br /> <br />h. RESOLUTION: <br /> <br />Regional Jail Agreement Amendment <br /> <br /> Be it Concurrently Resolved by the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail <br />Authority, the Boards of Supervisors of Albemarle and Nelson Counties and the City <br />Council of the City of Charlottesville: <br /> <br />I. RECITALS <br /> <br /> The ALBEMARLE-CHARLOTTESVILLE REGIONAL JAIL AUHORITY <br />(hereinafter the "Authority"), and the COUNTY OF ALBEM3A>,LE and the CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, political subdivisions of the Commonwealth of Virginia <br />("Albemarle" and "Charlottesville" or collectively the "Member Jurisdictions")have <br />previously approved and executed an original SerVice Agreement dated November 15, <br />1995 and amendments thereto effective March 12, 1998, (collectively, the "Service <br />Agreement"), creating the Authority and specifying the terms and conditions under which <br /> <br /> <br />
