77 <br /> <br /> Mr. Cox said that the workforce development initiative may need space, though <br />the plan is not yet defined. <br /> <br />Mr. Toscano suggested that this be targeted for Council's reserve funds. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati noted that the nursing programs at Crescent Halls and Westhaven <br />and the Music Resource Center are also requesting funding that is not included in the <br />proposed budget. <br /> <br /> Ms. Peacock explained that funding for the Growing Heakhy Families has been <br />set aside by the City and County pending a development program. <br /> <br /> Council requested that staff provide Council with minutes of last year's bUdget <br />deliberations regarding funding for JABA's Mary Williams Senior Center and discussions <br />about their working with the Senior Center. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards said that no U. Va. student activity funds for Madison House have <br />been recommended and suggested that the City write to request continued funding. <br /> <br />Mr. Caravati requested more information about the Boys and Girls Club. <br /> <br /> Ms. Daugherty said she would like an accounting and details on staffing from the <br />Health Department, and Ms. Richards asked that a breakdown of people served by <br />jurisdiction be provided as well. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cox said he would like to see the overall budget for the Piedmont Housing <br />Alliance. <br /> <br />Mr. Toscano asked staff to provide living wage data. <br /> <br />Ms. Richards asked for usage data for Legal Aid. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Mr. Caravati, Council voted (Ayes: Mr. <br />Caravati, Mr. Cox, Ms. Daugherty, Ms. Richards, Mr. Toscano. Noes: None.) to meet in <br />executive session for the purpose of consultation with legal counsel and briefings by staff <br />members, consultants or attorneys pertaining to actual or probable litigation, or other <br />specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by counsel, as authorized by <br />Section 2.1-344(A)(7) of the Virginia Code. <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in open session and, on motion by Mr. Caravati, seconded by <br />Ms. Richards, certified (Ayes: Mr. Caravati, Mr. Cox, Ms. Daugherty, Ms. Richards, <br />Mr. Toscano. Noes: None.) that, to the best of each member's knowledge, (i) only public <br />business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by Virginia law <br />were discussed in the executive meeting to which this certification resolution applies, and <br />(ii) only such public business matters as were identified in the motion convening the <br />executive meeting were heard, discussed or considered by the Council. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br />Preside~ <br /> <br /> <br />
