222 <br /> <br />grandfathered in R-t districts are being expanded to four bedroom units with exterior <br />renovations. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Mr. Caravati, the ordinance emitled <br />"ANORDINANCE AMENDING AND REORDAINING SECTION 34-138 OF <br />,aRTICLE IV, AND SECTION 34-581 OF ARTICLE XXVIII, OF CHAPTER 34 OF <br />THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, <br />RELATING TO BY-RIGHT USES IN R-1 DISTRICTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE <br />APPROVAL OF PROJECTS ELIGIBLE FOR HISTORIC REHABILITATION TAX <br />CREDITS" was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Sm Armstrong applauded the PHAR group for their efforts to spur housing in <br />the region. M.r. Armstrong said that the Piedmont Housing Alliance has been advocating <br />for combining HOME funds in the region, and suggested that half of the funds be <br />combined in order to lessen the impact on small non-profit organizations who receive <br />HOME funds Mr. Armm~ng said PI-IA has been working with the Jefferson Area Board <br />for Aging on increasing rural elderly housing. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Cormelt said that the two-waying of Marketing Street will occur in the next <br />few weeks. <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Cormell said that a Government Services Fair will take place on October 8th <br />and City departments will provide informmion on what services the City provides. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards said that the Metropolitan Plamn_ing Organization has been working <br />with JABA to make use of City buses more friendly and bus buddies arc being provided <br />for senior citizens. Ms. Richards said she would also like to see school children <br />encouraged to ride buses. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards acknowledged receipt of a copy ora letter from Social Services <br />Advisory Committee Chair Marion Rabinowitz to the state regarding a decrease in state <br />funding for day eare for VIEW clients.
