Mr. Cox noted that the Corridor Study will recommend high density in <br />certain commercial corridors where mixed use is appropriate and he feels no action <br />should be taken until the study is presented. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards expressed agreement with Mr. Cox. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said that he might support increasing density if there is redevelopment <br />of multi-family structures. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tolbert said increased density could be offered as an incentive if developers <br />provide something different. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cox said design is often an issue with student housing. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynch said he would not support reducing the unrelated person rule to two. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caravati said the definition of family is changing which has an impact on the <br />four unrelated person limit, and reducing the limit would have a serious impact on <br />affordability. <br /> <br /> The Planning Commission expressed an interest in increasing density in <br />undesignated places and exploring reducing it in others. <br /> <br /> Should there be higher density development on the identified transportation <br />corridors within the City? <br /> <br /> The Planning Commission agreed this should be pursued. <br /> <br /> Ms. Richards suggested exploring giving an incentive for higher density without <br />parking in certain areas. <br /> <br /> Should there be permit parking that would incorporate the 24 hour a day, 7 <br />day a week approaCh now in effect on University Circle in complete neighborhoods <br />such as Venable, Jefferson Park Avenue, Lewis Mountain and Fifeville in an effort <br />to remove commuter cars from these neighborhoods and encourage the University <br />to provide its own parking? <br /> <br /> Mr. Tolbert said that it is also recommended that the fine for parking in these <br />restricted zones be increased and that a boot be used on vehicles. <br /> <br /> The Planning Commission and Council agreed the neighborhood wide permit <br />parking zones should be pursued. <br /> <br /> Should there be a relaxation of home occupation standards that would at the <br />same time provide stability and protect for our neighborhoods? <br /> <br /> Ms. Damon said that parking from home occupations will have to be taken into <br />consideration in order to protect neighborhoods. <br /> <br /> The Planning Commission supported moving forward with this recommendation. <br /> <br /> <br />
