RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO SIGN DEED FOR SALE OF LAND AT CORNER OF MEADE [ MARKET STREET Mr. Hendrix stated that the City had been asked to sell a small parcel of land at Meade and Market Street and it was staff's recommendation to sell the property, at its appraised value of $14,100, with the following conditions: 1) that the lot be bought with an adjacent lot, 2) that the two parcels be combined into one, and 3) that no structure be placed to obstruct the sight from the property, and that this provision be a covenant to run-with the land. On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the resolution authorizing the Mayor to s~gn a deed for sale of land at the corner of Meade and Market Street was unanimously approved by Council. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: Contract of Purchase between City of Charlottesville (Seller) and David Hash or Assigns (Purchaser) for sale of property located at 1300 East Market Street. A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the minutes of the Council meeting at which this resolution was adopted. RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO SIGN EASEMENT FOR PROPERTY NEAR WYNRIDGE DRIVE Mr. Hendrix stated that the gas easement was needed to provide gas to a subdivision in Albemarle County. On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign an easement for property near Wynridge Drive was unanimously approved by Council. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: Deed of Easement granted by Trustees of Minor Land Trust for City to install gas lines near Wynridge Drive (Minor Townhouses)in Albemarle County. A copy of such document shall be kept on file with the minutes of the Conncil meeting at which this resolution was adopted. RESOLUTION: DISTRICT AMENDING BOUNDARIES OF CENTRAL CITY REHABILITATION Mr. Barnes asked Mr. Huja why areas which seemed appropriate in Belmont were not included in the Central City Rehabilitation District. Mr. Huja explained that in order to qualify areas must be contiguous. On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the resolution amending the boundaries of the Central City Rehabili- tation District was unanimously approved by Council. ORDINANCE: ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE (2nd reading) Mr. Buck stated that Council recommended a ?.4% increase in the City Manager's salary, with a portion of the increase in the form of disability and life insurance. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, the salary and benefits for the City Manager were unanimously approved by Council.
