MARKET <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the ordinance would reaffirm <br />the sale of City property which was previously authorized <br />by Council. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gle~son, seconded by Dr. Hall, <br />the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE <br />SALE OF CITY PROPERTY AT 1300 EAST MARKET STREET" was <br />offered and carried over to the next meeting for con- <br />sideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: VACATING A PORTION OF INDIA ROAD <br /> <br /> Mr. Fred Landess, representing the developer of the <br />property adjacent to India Road, stated that all of the <br />property is owned by his client except the area owned by <br />the Neighborhood Theatres who had agreed to sell their <br />portion after the closing. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, <br />the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND DIS- <br />CONTINUING A PORTION OF INDIA ROAD AS SHOWN ON PLAT OF <br />SEMINOLE SQUARE" was offere'd and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, <br />Council voted to meet in executive session to discuss <br />personnel and legal matters as exempted by Section 2.1- <br />344(a)(1) and (6) of the Virginia Freedom of Information <br />Act. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned <br /> <br />r~ ...... President <br /> COUNCIL CHAMBER July 15, 1985 <br /> <br /> Council met in regular session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, <br />the minutes of July 1st were approved~as corrected, with <br />Dr. Gunter abstaining. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Dr. Gunter introduced two teenage visitors from Ireland <br />who had been selected to further good relations between our <br />countries. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING: ORDINANCE INCREASING FEES FOR BUILDING, ELECTRICAL, <br />PLUMBING, MECHANICAL AND SPECIAL PERMITS <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the 1985-86 budget had included <br />the recommendation that certain building related fees be <br />increased. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gary O'Connell, Assistant City Manager, reviewed <br />the proposed fees and stated that the fees were structured <br />to make the procedures self-supporting. Mr. O'Connell added <br />that very little change would be seen in small projects and <br />noted that the proposed fees are less than those currently <br />charged by Albemarle County. <br /> <br /> <br />
