62 ORDINANCE: STREET AUTHORIZING SALE OF CITY PROPERTY ON E. MARKET Mr. Hendrix stated that the ordinance would reaffirm the sale of City property which was previously authorized by Council. On motion by Mrs. Gle~son, seconded by Dr. Hall, the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CITY PROPERTY AT 1300 EAST MARKET STREET" was offered and carried over to the next meeting for con- sideration. ORDINANCE: VACATING A PORTION OF INDIA ROAD Mr. Fred Landess, representing the developer of the property adjacent to India Road, stated that all of the property is owned by his client except the area owned by the Neighborhood Theatres who had agreed to sell their portion after the closing. On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND DIS- CONTINUING A PORTION OF INDIA ROAD AS SHOWN ON PLAT OF SEMINOLE SQUARE" was offere'd and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. PUBLIC There were no matters by the public. On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, Council voted to meet in executive session to discuss personnel and legal matters as exempted by Section 2.1- 344(a)(1) and (6) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. President COUNCIL CHAMBER July 15, 1985 Council met in regular session on this date with the following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. MINUTES On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the minutes of July 1st were approved~as corrected, with Dr. Gunter abstaining. PUBLIC Dr. Gunter introduced two teenage visitors from Ireland who had been selected to further good relations between our countries. PUBLIC HEARING: ORDINANCE INCREASING FEES FOR BUILDING, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL AND SPECIAL PERMITS Mr. Hendrix stated that the 1985-86 budget had included the recommendation that certain building related fees be increased. Mr. Gary O'Connell, Assistant City Manager, reviewed the proposed fees and stated that the fees were structured to make the procedures self-supporting. Mr. O'Connell added that very little change would be seen in small projects and noted that the proposed fees are less than those currently charged by Albemarle County.
