120 <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $4,621.88 - CHIP REAPPROPRIATIOK <br /> <br /> Mr. Barry Kastner, Director of the Charlottesville <br />Housing Improvement Program, requested that $4,621.88 in <br />administrative fees for the Housing Authority left over <br />from FY 84-85 be reappropriated and used for handicapped <br />modifications and repair. Mr. Kastner stated that the <br />repairs would be done in conjunction with the Jefferson <br />Area Board for Aging's Home Safety Program. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Dr. Hall, the <br />$4,621.88 reappropriation to CHIP was offered and carried <br />over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />DISTRICT COURT <br /> <br />$3,500 <br /> <br />PURCHASE OF LAW BOOKS FOR GENERAL <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that Judge Marshall has retired <br />and the incoming judge would like to purchase Judge <br />Marshall's law books which have been appraised at $3,500. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, <br />the $3,500 appropriation for Law Books for the General <br />District Court was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING CONVEYANCE OF PROPERTY BY REGION 10 <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES BOARD <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that Region 10 Community Services <br />Board is interested in selling two pieces of property <br />that it presently owns. Mr. Hendrix stated that all six <br />jurisdictions must approve the resolution and final <br />approval of the sale contract must be approved by all <br />jurisdictions. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Hall, the <br />Resolution Authorizing Conveyance of Property by Region <br />10 Community Services Board was unanimously approved by <br />Council. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Region Ten Community Services Board, an <br />agency formed pursuant to Section 37.1-194 et seq. of <br />the Code of Virginia of 19S0, as amended, by the City of <br />Charlottesville, and the Counties of Albemarle, Nelson, <br />Greene, Fluvanna and Louisa, Virginia, all political <br />subdivisions of the Commonwealth of Virginia, ("Region <br />Ten") is the owner of certain rela estate located at <br />503 Sixteenth Street, N.W., in the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia and is the beneficial owner of certain real estate <br />located at 409 Third Street, N.E., in the City of Char- <br />lottesville, Virginia which property is held in the name <br />of William T. Stevens and Isabel A. Palmer, as Trustees <br />for Region Ten (collectively referred to as the "Properties"); <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to promote the more efficient manage- <br />ment of its assets and to carry out its purposes more <br />effectively, Region Ten desires to transfer and convey <br />its interest in the Properties and to use the proceeds <br />from such sales for the purchase, or the lease, and reno- <br />vation of a new facility to relocate the mental health day <br />program currently housed at the 409 Third Street, N.E. <br />property and to apply any ~xcess proceeds to the Region Ten <br />Community Services Board Special Projects Fund; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Region Ten, at its regularly scheduled <br />meeting held on June 10, 198S, voted to sell the Properties <br />and apply the proceeds as set forth above; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, after careful consideration and in furtherance <br />of the foregoing public prupose, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br />VIRGINIA, THAT: <br /> <br /> <br />
