ORDINANCE: RELATING TO AMUSEMENT ARCADES IN M-1 ZONES (2nd reading) The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE- ORDAINING SECTION 31-106 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA, 1976, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO ZONING OF AMUSEMENT ARCADES" which was offered at the meeting of September 16th, was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. BuCk, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter. Noes: None Absent: Dr. Hall. ORDINANCE: REZONING PROPERTY AT REAR OF 1140 ROSE HILL DRIVE FROM~-i TO B-1 Mr. Huja stated that the Planning Commission recommended rezoning of the rear of 1140 Rose Hill Drive for the following reasons: 1) It is in harmony with the Land Use Plan of the Comprehensive Plan, 2) It will not have a significant adverse impact on the surrounding neighborhood, 3) It will allow the zoning boundary to conform with the property boundary. On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING THE DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 31-4 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, BY THE REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1140 ROSE HILL DRIVE" was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. PUBLIC There were no matters by the public. OTHER BUSINESS Mr. Hendrix stated that staff is continuing to work with the parties involved in the Short Street closing. Mr. Hendrix distributed a report to Council concerning gypsy moths. Mr. Hendrix stated that extensive public education would be necessary to deal effectively with the problem and added that it will be an expensive project. APPOINTMENTS: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Gunter, Mr. Robert Davis' term on the Personnel Appeals Board was unanimously extended until Mr. Davis is reappointed or until another appointment is made. On motion by Dr. Gunter, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, Council voted to meet in executive session to discuss personnel and legal matters as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) and (6) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. ing was adjourned.
