130 JEFFERSON SCHOOL ANNEX October 9, 198S Council met in special session on this date for a lunch meeting with the School Board with the following members present: Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Absent: Mr. Barnes and Mr. Buck. Students from the Charlottesville High School Drama Department gave a program featuring changes and assign- ments in the Charlottesville School Administration. was adjourned. MINUTES On motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the minutes of October 7th were approved as presented, with Dr. Hall abstaining. On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the minutes of October 9th were approved as presented, with Mr. Barnes and Mr. Buck abstaining. PUBLIC Mr. Gib Akin of S01 Park. Hill, President of the North Downtown Neighborhood Association, urged Council not to approve five lanes for the Ridge Street Bridge in the interest of neighborhood preservation. Mr. Buck stated that Council would consider the issue of the Ridge Street Bridge at its next meeting. Mr. Buck al.so noted that the Highway Department would be holding an informal meeting at Charlottesville High School on October 22nd to discuss the tenative location proposals for the Meadowcreek Parkway. Mr. Akin stated that Mr. Eugene Williams had collected signatures from Ridge Street residents who opposed five lanes for the Ridge Street Bridge. Mr. Ge'orge Gilliam, representing the developers of Seminole Square Shopping Center, requested Council's approval of a resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign an easement agreement to abandon certain storm water and sanitary sewer easements and grant an easement in Semin61e Square. Mr. Roger Wiley, City Attorney, stated that the City Engineers were satisfied with the easement. Dr. Hall moved the"resolution, subject to the correcting of the plat, Mr. Barnes seconded the motion, and the resolution was unanimously approved by Council. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City the following document, in form approved by the City Attorney: Easement Agreement among The Corner Group, Inc., Rossline Limited Partnership, Seminole Square and the City of Charlottesville to abandon certain storm water and sanitary sewer easements and grant an easement in Seminole Square.
