Absent: Dr. Gunter. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Mr. Barnes, <br />the minutes of December 16th were unanimously approved by <br />Council. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Hall, seconded by Mrs. Gl'eason, <br />the minutes of December 23rd were unanimously approved by <br />Council. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by t.he public. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION: RICHARD PARKER, CENTRAL VIRGINIA EDUCATIONAL <br />TELEVISION CORPORATION <br /> <br /> Mr. Richard Parker, representing Central Virginia <br />Educational Television Corporation, requested Council's <br />support for Central Virginia's application before the <br />Federal Communications Commission and the National <br />Telecommunications and Information Administration to <br />install a transmitter and to set up a studio in <br />Charlottesville in order to serve an area that is presently <br />not served. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck asked if other applications had also been <br />submitted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Parker responded that he thought WVPT out of <br />Harrisonburg was pursuing approval for a transmitter th6ugh <br />he did not believe they intended on having a local studio. <br /> <br /> <br />
