183 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING GRANT APPLICATION TO VIRGINIA COMMISSION <br />FOR THE ARTS <br /> <br /> Mr. Lecky Stone representing the Piedmont Council of the <br />Arts, stated that the City must technically apply for the <br />matching grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, <br />though the Council would take care of the requirements. <br /> <br /> It was noted that the City's funding was subject to <br />approval in the budget. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Gunter, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the <br />resolution authorizing a grant application to the Virginia <br />Commission for the Arts was unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the ~Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that the Community Development Department is hereby <br />authorized on behalf of the City, ~n cooperation with the <br />Piedmont Council of the Arts, to apply for a 1986-1987. Local <br />Government Challenge Grant in the amount of $5,000 from the <br />Virginia Commission for the Arts. This authorization is for <br />a conditional application, which application would be confirmed <br />if and when the City adopts a 1986-1987 budget with the required <br />$5,000 matching contribution to the Piedmont Council of the Arts. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: PARK CURFEWS (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that upon further review by staff, <br />it was recommended that the curfew at Smith and Crow <br />Recreation Centers remain at 11:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Gunter, the <br />ordinance was unanimously amended to change the curfew at <br />Crow and Smith Recreation Centers to 11:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled~"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER <br />VI OF~ THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, <br />BY THE ADDITION OF A SECTION NUMBERED 6-12, AND FURTHER TO <br />AMEND SECTION 18-3 OF SUCH CODE, THE ADDED AND AMENDED SECTIONS <br />RELATING TO CLOSING HOURS FOR CITY CEMETERIES, PARKS AND <br />CERTAIN RECREATIONAL FACILITIES," which was offered at the <br />meeting of February 3rd, was approved, as amended, by the <br />following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason,'Dr. Gunter, <br />Dr. Hall. Noes: None. Absent: Mr. Barnes. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: CHANGING PURCHASING PROCEDURES RE: NATURAL GAS <br />(2nd >e-g-~ing) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER <br />21.1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS <br />AMENDED, RELATING TO PURCHASING, BY ADDING A SECTION 21.1-35.1 <br />IN ORDER TO PROVIDE SPECIAL CONTRACT PROCEDURES FOR THE PURCHASE <br />OF NATURAL GAS SUPPLIES" which was offered at the February 3rd <br />meeting, was approvedby the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, <br />Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. Absent: Mr. <br />Barnes. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: REZONING PROPERTY AT 313 13TH STREET, N.W. FROM R-1 <br />TO R-3 (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND <br />REENACTING THE DISTRICT MAP INCORPORATED IN SECTION 31-4 OF <br />THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, <br />1976, AS AMENDED, BY THE REZONING OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 313 <br />13TH STREET, N.W." which was offered at the meeting of <br />February 3~d', was approved by the following vote~.
