Data Processing Fund <br /> <br />(a) Continuing Appropriation <br /> <br /> The unexpended revenues of $7,192.26 in expenditure <br />account 13-31010 at June 30, 1985, shall be permitted to <br />be carried over and expended in the current fiscal year <br />for the purpose for which it was originally appropriated. <br /> <br />VII. Equipment Replacement Fund <br /> <br />(a) Continuing Appropriation <br /> <br /> The unexpended revenues of $35,407.53 in expenditure <br />account 01-15050 derived from net proceeds for the 1985 <br />City Auction held on June 13, 1985, shall be permitted to <br />be carried over in the Equipment Replacement Fund and <br />expended in the current fiscal year for the purpose for <br />which it was originally appropriated. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: CHANGING NAME OF 250 BYPASS TO VETERAN'S <br />MEMORIAL DRIVE <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that following the request by the <br />Dogwood Festival Board that the 250 Bypass be named <br />Veteran's Memorial Drive, staff had notified residents of <br />the street and the post office of the proposed change. <br />Mr. Hendrix stated that the post office recommended that <br />only the 250 Bypass west of Locust Avenue be named <br />Veteran's Memorial Drive and that Long Street not be <br />changed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Taylor, a resident of Long Street, presented a <br />petition signed by Long Street residents who were opposed <br />to the proposed name change. <br /> <br /> Ms. Isabel Wyant, a Long Street resident, stated that <br />she would have no objections to naming the 250 Bypass <br />Veteran's Memorial Drive west from Locust Avenue, but also <br />recommended that the City consider naming the proposed <br />Meadowcreek Parkway Veteran's Memorial Drive. <br /> <br /> Mr. Craig Carpenter, operator of Long Street Exxon, <br />stated that while he had great admiration for veterans, he <br />strongly objected to the name change. <br /> <br /> Mr. James Shisler, member of the Dogwood Festival <br />Board of Directors, stated that he would have no <br />objections to a compromise. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jack Fall, operator of the All-American Car Wash <br />on Long Street, stated that he would support the name <br />change from Locust Avenue west, but felt it should be <br />shortened to Memorial Drive because Veteran's Memorial <br />Drive is too long. <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck recommended that the Dogwood Festival Board <br />of Directors reconsider the matter rather than have <br />Council make a decision at this time. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVING LYNCHBURG INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT BONDS <br />FOR MARTHA JEFFERSON HOSPITAL <br /> <br /> This item was deferred because information explaining <br />the resolution from the bond counsel had not been <br /> <br /> <br />
