APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />PROGRAM <br /> <br />$13,000 - CREATIVE LEARNING AFTER SCHOOL/SUMMER <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that this appropriation had been <br />made by Council the previous June, but had never been <br />transferred in the new fiscal year and the amount would need <br />to be reappropriated. <br /> <br /> On motion by Dr. Gunter, seconded by Mrs. Gleason, the <br />$13,000 appropriation for the Creative Learning After <br />School/Summer Program was offered and carried over to the <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE RE: APPLICABILITY TO THE <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION AND ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CONTROL ORDINANCES <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck stated that this ordinance had been deferred <br />until all affected property owners could be contacted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Satyendra Huja, Director of Community Development, <br />stated that 97 letter had been sent, and two inquiries made <br />as a result. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wiley read the letter sent to the property owners, <br />which clearly stated the intent of the ordinance. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 31-127.2, AS AMENDED, OF THE CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, RELATING TO THE APPLICABILITY <br />OF ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CONTROLS" which was offered at the <br />meeting of April 21st, was approved by the following vote. <br />Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. <br />Hall. Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE RE: MAINTENANCE OF PROPERTIES <br />IN DOWNTOWN CONTROL DISTRICT (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck noted that this ordinance had been deferred as <br />had the previous one in order to notify the affected <br />property owners. <br /> <br /> Mr. Huja stated that 180 letters had been sent and five <br />inquiries had been made. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jeff Cater, representing Jefferson National Bank, <br />questioned why another reference to maintenance of <br />properties in the City Code had not also been changed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wiley responded that a change could be made in the <br />section referred to by Mr. Cater, but was not necessary. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 31-141, AS AMENDED, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, RELATING TO MAINTENANCE OF <br />PROPERTIES SUBJECT TO DESIGN CONTROLS" which was offered at <br />the meeting of April 21st was approved by the following <br />vote. Ayes: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. <br />Gunter, Dr. Hall. Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: CLOSING A PORTION OF AN ALLEY BETWEEN 10TH & 10 1/2 <br />STREETS (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING <br />AND DISCONTINUING AN ALLEY OFF 10TH STREET, N.W. BETWEEN <br />GRADY AND WEST STREET" which was offered at the meeting of <br />May 19th, was approved by the following vote% Ayes: Mr. <br />Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. Gleason, Dr. Gunter, Dr. Hall.
