26S <br /> <br />STAFF REPORT: URBAN DESIGN PLAN <br /> <br /> Mr. Barnes moved and Dr. Gunter seconded a motion to <br />eliminate the specific use of University of Virginia School <br />of Architecture consultants for the Urban Design Plan. The <br />motion was unanimously approved (Mr. Buck was absent for the <br />vote.) Council agreed to invite University employees to <br />respnd to requests for proposals along with other general <br />planning and economic consultants. <br /> <br />STAFF REPORT: TECHNICAL COMMITTEE MAKE-UP FOR CITY/COUNTY/ <br />UNIVERSITY COORDINATING COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Council discussed the make-up of the Technical <br />Committee for the City/County/University Coordinating <br />Council. (Mr. Buck arrived at this point.) Mr. Barnes <br />moved and Dr. Hall seconded a motion to ask the Planning <br />Commission to name two of its members to the Technial <br />Committee. The Director of Planning and Community <br />Development would be the third member from the City. The <br />motion was unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mrs. Gleason, seconded by Dr. Gunter, <br />Council unanimously voted to meet in executive session to <br />discuss use of public property as exempted by Section <br />2.1-344(a)(2) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. <br /> <br />1dent <br /> <br />was adjourned. <br /> <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Wednesday, <br />June 11, 1986 AT 12:00 noon IN THE Basement Conference Room. <br /> <br />THE AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Luncheon meeting with the School Board <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox (signed) <br /> <br /> BASEMENT CONFERENCE ROOM - June 11, 1986 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Barnes, Mr. Buck, Mrs. <br />Gleasont Dr. Hall. Absent: Dr. Gunter. <br /> <br /> Dr. Vincent Cibbarelli, Superintendent of Schools, <br />stated that a preliminary draft of the Future Needs Study <br />would be available in the near future. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Dunbar of School Administration, discussed the <br />schedule for renovation of Clark and Venable Elementary <br />Schools, stating that construction was hoped to begin in the <br />spring of 1987. Mr. Dunbar stated that construction at each <br />school was expected to take two summers and one full <br />semester and that the schools would not be under <br />construction at the same time. Mr. Dunbar stated that <br />students are tentatively scheduled to be housed in Jefferson <br />School while the schools are under construction. <br /> <br /> Following a discussion it was agreed that a work <br />session would be held in July with Council and the School <br />Board to discuss the planned renovation and expenses of the <br />schools before firm commitments are made. <br /> <br /> <br />
