<br />I. ADOPTION OF BUDGET
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager has caused to be prepared
<br />and presented to City Council a proposed utility budget
<br />for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1986, and ending
<br />June 30, 1987.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
<br />City of Charlottesville that such document and the
<br />estimates and revenues and expenditures therein proposed
<br />by the City Manager and debated and adjusted by the City
<br />Council, are hereby adopted as the annual Utility Fund
<br />budget of the City of Charlottesville, for informative and
<br />fiscal planning purposes only, for the fiscal year
<br />beginning July 1, 1986, and ending June 30, 1987; and that
<br />a true and correct copy of the same, as adopted, shall be
<br />kept on file in the records of the Clerk of the Council.

<br />II. GAS FUND APPROPRIATION
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville, that there is hereby appropriated from
<br />the Gas Fund, for the operation of the gas utility during
<br />the~fiscal year beginning July 1, 1986 and ending June 30,
<br />1987, the sum of $12,782,424, or the amount of revenue
<br />actually received by such fund, whichever is the greater
<br />amount. Such appropriation shall be effective July 1
<br />1986. '

<br />III. WATER FUND APPROPRIATION
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville, that there is hereby appropriated from
<br />the Water Fund, for the operation of the water utility
<br />during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1986 and ending
<br />June 30, 1987, the sum of $2,804,074, or the amount of
<br />revenue actually received by such fund, whichever is the
<br />greater amount. Such appropriation shall be effective
<br />July 1, 1986.

<br />IV. WASTEWATER FUND APPROPRIATION
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville, that there is hereby appropriated from
<br />the Wastewater Fund, for the operation of the wastewater
<br />utility during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1986 and
<br />ending June 30, 1987, the sum of $2,761,561, or the amount
<br />of revenue actually received by such fund, whichever is
<br />the greater amount. Such appropriation shall be effective
<br />July 1, 1986.

<br />CONTRACT
<br />
<br />PROVIDING FOR RENEWAL OF CITY MANAGER'S EMPLOYMENT
<br />
<br /> The resolution providing for the renewal of the City
<br />Manager's employment contract was moved by Mrs. Gleason,
<br />seconded by Dr. Gunter, and unanimously approved by
<br />Council.
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the Employment Agreement
<br />between the City Council and the City Manager, dated May
<br />12, 1985, shall be renewed for an additional year
<br />beginning July 1, 1986. The Manager's annual base salary
<br />for such year shall be $66,000.00. The Manager may elect
<br />to direct portions of such salary to a deferred
<br />compensation account to the extent permitted by federal
<br />and State income tax laws. All other terms and conditions
<br />of the agreement on May 12, 1985 shall remain in full
<br />force and effect.
