WEST MAIN STREET PARKING OPPORTUNITIES AND ANALYSIS <br /> City of Charlottesville <br /> <br />Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates Inc. | 5 <br /> Stakeholder Meeting. In October, 2014, the consultant attended a Midtown Business <br />Association meeting to record input on problems in the parking system, as well as <br />recommended changes. <br /> Parking User Surveys. The consultant prepared two on-line surveys that sought basic <br />parking preference information from both the business community and visitors/users of <br />West Main Street. It was distributed and advertised among stakeholders by City staff and <br />local businesses. Over 300 responses were recorded. <br /> Parking Opportunities. The consultant assessed the applicable parking technologies, <br />policies and management procedures that could be initiated along West Main Street to <br />manage on- and off-street parking. <br />SUMMARY FINDINGS <br />The findings below are highlights of the findings from the parking supply and demand data <br />collection and analysis effort.
