12 <br />GENERAL BUSINESS <br />There were no General Business items. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />On motion by Ms. Hill, seconded by Mr. Snook, Council by the following vote <br />APPROVED that pursuant to Charlottesville City Code Section 2-213(d) the City Attorney’s <br />Office is authorized to retain Taxing Authority Consulting Services: 5-0 (Ayes: Hill, Magill, <br />Payne, Snook, Walker. Noes: none). <br />Mr. Blair advised that this request is in reference to a suit concerning the Business <br />License Occupancy Tax. <br />MATTERS BY THE PUBLIC <br />Ms. Walker opened the floor for comments from the public. <br />Mr. Brandon Collins, City resident and representative for PHAR, expressed concern that <br />the City could do more for housing and rent relief efforts with the CARES Act funding received. <br />Ms. Tanesha Hudson spoke about distrust of the Police Chief and race issues in the City. <br />Mr. Don Gathers spoke about an honorary street naming request that he submitted. <br />Mr. Rory Stolzenberg spoke about a possible joint work session between the Planning <br />Commission, City Council and consultants to discuss housing issues. He advised Council of an <br />email that he sent to Council, including photos of the presence of State Troopers and aircraft <br />over the previous weekend near a protest site, contradicting comments from Chief Brackney <br />earlier in the meeting. He submitted a verbal Freedom of Information request. <br />With no additional speakers coming forward, Ms. Walker closed public comment. <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:32 p.m.
