no <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER, NOVEMBER 7, 1938 <br />The Council met in regular session on this date with the following members <br />present: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Peyton. <br />Minutes of the Meetings of October 17, 18, and November 4, 1938, were read and <br />approved. <br />A Committee from the Chamber of Commerce addressed the Council relative to a <br />Airport proposed Airport near Shadwell. On motion, this matter was carried over to the next <br />regular meeting for consideration. <br />County Water On motion by Dr. Haden, a County Water Connection was grunted to Harry Frazier,J2 <br />Connection <br />On motion by Dr. Haden, the following sidewalk application was approved for <br />construction: <br />Estimated Property Owners' City's <br />Name Location Cost Proportion Portion <br />Sidewalk <br />Application W. V. Johnson Monticello Road $45.00 $30.00 PM15.00 <br />Petition re: On motion by Mr. Gleason, the matter pertaining to the petition of M. L. Porter <br />Zoning change <br />carried over for a change in the Zoning Ordinance was carried over to the next regular meeting <br />for consideration. <br />Reports re: The City Manager and City Attorney reports relative to stop signs at railway <br />Stop Signs approved <br />crossings were presented/and ordered filed with the minutes of this meeting. <br />The following report was unanimously adopted: <br />November 7, 1938 <br />To the Members of the Council of the <br />City of ChLrl ottesville, Virginia <br />Gentlemen: <br />A meeting of the Finance Committee was held <br />on October 27, 1938, with all members present. <br />Report of The Finance Committee deemed it advisable and <br />Finance so changed the date of the Bond Sale to November 21, <br />Committee 1938 at 12 o'clock Noon. <br />The Notice of Bond Sale as prepared by the <br />City Auditor was approved and 500 copies thereof <br />ordered printed and forwarded to interested Bond <br />Houses. <br />The City Auditor was authorized and instructed <br />to advertise the Bond Sale, for one insertion, in <br />The Daily Bond Buyer. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />S. PEYTON, JR. sig ned) <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />Appropriation The resolution appropriating $1500.00 for engineering and miscellaneous expenses <br />Annexation <br />in connection with the Annexation Proceedings which was offered at the meeting of <br />the Council held on October 17, 1938, was adopted by the following recorded vote. <br />Ayes; Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Peyton. Noes: None. <br />An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1938 ANNUAL LICENSE TAX <br />Ordinance- ORDINANCE BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO, NUMBERED AND ENTITLED 1106a. SAA:PLES- <br />"Samples- <br />Display- DISPLAY - PENALTY? t', which was offered at the regulaar meeting of the Council held on <br />Penalty" <br />October 17, 1938, was adopted by the following recorded vote.
