The Chief of the Fire Department appeared before the Council upon its invitation <br />and presented certain information as to the physical condition of Foreman L. <br />Report re: <br />nurvis, <br />and upon his recommendation, it was moved by <br />Dr. Haden, seconded by Mr. <br />W. L. Purvis <br />Condition <br />Gleason, <br />that the salary of 71". L. Purvis be reduced to <br />I'100.00 per month, and that <br />he be relived of all duties as truck driver, which motion <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />The <br />Fire Chief recommended that A. A. Butler be <br />employed as truck driver for <br />A. h. Butler <br />the Fire <br />Department at a salary of 48100.00 per month. <br />On motion by Mr. Gleason, <br />to be truck <br />driver <br />seconded <br />by Mr. Jessup, the foregoing recommendation <br />of the Fire Chief was un- <br />animously adopted, and the following resolution was adopted by the following recorded <br />vote. Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, "Ir. Huff, h1r. Jessup, and. Mr. Peyton. Noes; <br />None . <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville thE�t <br />Appropria- X600.00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby <br />tion Fire <br />Dept. appropriated to supplement the Fire Department budget for salaries of truck <br />drivers. <br />On motion by Mr. Jessup, seconded by Dr. Haden, the following resolution was <br />unanimously adopted: <br />Appropriation BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />Legal Expenses <br />School Board $750.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated to pay E. V. Vvlai,,:er on <br />account for legal expenses for the City School Board. <br />On motion by Dr. Haden, seconded by 11r.
