A. Haden, County Executive of Albemarle County, addressed the Council <br />and requested that the fee for a building permit for the erection of the new County <br />Offices be waived. The City Attorney explained that the fee could not be waived <br />but that an appropriation could be made to refund the cost of the building permit. <br />On motion by Mr. Jessup, seconded by Mr. Gleason, the following resolution was <br />unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that A85.00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the <br />same is hereby appropriated to refund to Albemarle County the cost <br />of a building permit to erect the new County Office Building. <br />Mr. H. A. Haden also addressed the Council in regard to the City and County <br />appropriation to the Joint Health Department and requested that some as justi-nent be <br />made in these appropriations due to the recent Annexation. On motion a Committee, <br />consisting of Dr. Haden, Rr. Peyton, and the City Manager, was appointed to confer <br />with a Committee from the Board of Supervisors on t;lis matter. <br />On motion the matter pertaining to the appointment of two School Board members <br />was carried over to the next regular meeting for consideration. <br />On motion the following resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Cit -Jr of Charlottesville <br />that ?,455-2)5 be and the same is hereby appropriated for surveying, etc . , <br />In the newly Annexed Territory. <br />On motion the following resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that $400-00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the <br />same is hereby appropriated for additional supplies, rents, etc., <br />for the indigents of the City. <br />On motion the following resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESVOLED by the Council of the City of ChGriottesville <br />that 050.00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the <br />same is hereby appropriated for advertising the Child Welfare <br />Association campaign. <br />On motion the meeting adjourned. <br />Clerk Prr6sident <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER, FEBRUARY 20, 1939 <br />The Council met in regular session on this date with the following members <br />present: ',Ir. Peyton. <br />Minutes of the l.Zeeting of February 6, 1939, were read and approved. <br />Communications from the Chief of Police relGtive to time lost by policemen on <br />account of sic�1-Mess were presented. On motion by Dr. Haden, seconded by Mr. Gleason, <br />Policeman T. H. Adams was ordered paid one-hGlf pay for L,.e time lost on February 9 <br />and 10, 1939; Policeman J. j`I. Dudley was ordered paid one-half pay for time lost <br />from February 15 to February 19, inclusive, 1939; and Policeman Louie E. Greaver was <br />
