IL <br />On motion the City Attorney was instructed to prepare the necessary contract <br />to carry out the foregoing report, and the Mayor and Clerk were authorized and <br />instructed to execute said contract. <br />A communication from the Commissioner of Revenue stating that M. B. Cresciolli <br />had been assessed and paid duplicate taxes on property located at 321 west side of <br />Tax Fifth Street, S. W., in amount of $27.30, and recommended that a refund be made to <br />Refund <br />this person. On motion by Dr. Haden, seconded by 711,11IT Gleason, the following resolu- <br />tion was unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />Appropriation that $27.30 be and the same is hereby appropriated to refund to <br />Tax Refund <br />M. B. Cresciolli duplicate taxes in accordance with the foregoing <br />communication. <br />A communication from the C&A Bus Company stating that the out-of-pocket loss <br />for three months period (Nov. 1 through Jan. 31, 1939) for the operation of the bus <br />Bus on Locust Grove, Preston Avenue, and Barracks Road amounted to $1+11.65, and requested <br />Service <br />Liscontinued that they be relieved -of operating on these streets. On motion by Dr. Haden, the <br />C&A Bus Company was authorized to discontinue the temporary service on Locust Grove, <br />Preston Avenue, and Barracks Road, effective March 1, 1939. <br />The C& A Bus Company also requested that they be allowed to discontinue bus <br />Additional <br />Service on service on Monticello Road and that they be allowed to add additional service on <br />Avon St. <br />Avon Street. On motion by Dr. Haden the foregoing request was unanimously granted. <br />On motion the meeting adjourned. <br />Clerk President <br />COUNCIL CHAMBER, MARCH 6, 1939• <br />The Council met in regular session on this date with the following members <br />present: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Peyton. <br />Minutes of the Meeting of February 20, 1939, were read and approved. <br />Mr. A. E. Edwards addressed the Council and requested that an appropriation of <br />Appropriation <br />Bleachers for $300.00 be made for the erection of bleachers on the McIntire Solfball Field. He <br />Softball <br />Field explained that this appropriation would be used in connection with a W. P. A. grant <br />and that it would be repaid at some future date from admission charges. On motion <br />by Dr. Haden, seconded by Mr. Peyton, the following resolution was unanimouly adopted.. <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />$300.00, or as much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is <br />hereby appropriat&d for the erection of bleachers on the McIntire <br />Softball Field. <br />County Water On motion a County Water Connection was granted to Mr. C. E. Harlow on Woolen <br />Connection <br />Mills Road. <br />Petition On motion by Dr. Haden, a petition relative to a street in Rugby Hills was <br />street in <br />Rugby Hills referred to the City Manager for investigation and report. <br />On motion the matter pertaining to the Zoning Commission was carried over to a <br />Zoning <br />Commission Special Meeting to be held on March 9, 1939, at 7:30 P. M. <br />
