<br />I On motion by Dr. Haden, the following resolution was unanimously adopted:
<br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of ChGrlottesville that
<br />$400.00, be and the same is hereby appropriated for additional supplies,
<br />rents, etc., for the indigents of the City.
<br />On motion an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING CHAPTER
<br />31.OF THE CITY CODE OF 1932 ENTITLED tPARKS AND CEMETERIES1", was presented -and
<br />carried over to the next regular meeting for consideration.
<br />On motion the Council went into Executive Session by the following recorded
<br />vote: Ayes= Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Jessup, and Mr. Peyton. Noes: None.
<br />On motion by Dr. Haden, seconded by Mr. Jessup, a petition from the Gulf Oil
<br />Company for a refund of $206.10 which was paid for a license tax under Section 67
<br />of the License Tax Ordinance, was rejected.
<br />On motion the matter pertaining to new ward lines was carried over to a Special
<br />Meeting to be held on March 10, 1939, at 7:30 P. M.
<br />On motion the meeting adjourned.

<br />To the Honorable Mayor & Council of the
<br />City of Charlottesville, Virginia
<br />Gentlemen: -
<br />The Znning Commission appointed by the Corporation Court of the
<br />City of Charlottesville, November 29th, 1938, under Sect. 3091 (6),
<br />Code of Virginia, hereby submits a proposed Zoning; Ordinance and
<br />accompanying map for the City.
<br />In preparing this map and Ordinance, the Commission has adopted
<br />the general policy of zoning the annexed territory to correspond with
<br />adjacent districts as zoned under the present Ordinance. It has
<br />seemed advisable to make certain changes in the present zoning map
<br />and ordinance, as shown on attached map and memorandum.
<br />These changes hove been made after consultation with the City 1.1anager,
<br />City Engineer, City Attorney, Committee appointed by Chamber of
<br />Commerce, and after discussion with Hugh S. Pomeroy, Federal rep-
<br />resentative of the American Planning Commission.
