Noes: None. <br />Appropriation <br />Quarterly <br />Estimate <br />Report - <br />Cambridge Circle <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />035,530.00, be and the same is hereby appropriated for the purposes set <br />forth in the City Manager's Quarterly Estimate for the quarter ending <br />August 31, 1939, which amounts shall include all over -expenditures for <br />the last quarter ended May 31, 1939. <br />On motion the following report was unanimously adopted: <br />Marcli 20, 1939 <br />To the Members of the City Council <br />City of Charlottesville, Virginia <br />Gentlemen: <br />With reference to petition of property owners along Cambridge <br />Circle that the City take over the street for maintenance, I wish <br />to advise that this street is approximately 1500 ft. in length <br />and has been surfaced 4,-ith sand a number of years ago as well <br />as having a curb and gutter installed on either side. <br />At present there are three houses on this street, and I would advise <br />taking it over with the distinct understanding that we will do <br />nothing more than trim out the under brush and maintain it so that <br />there will be no further deteriation to the curb and gutter already <br />installed. <br />SB:vL <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Seth Burnley (signed) <br />City Manager <br />On motion by Mr. Gleason, the following rer_,ort was unanimously adopted, and the <br />sale of $1502000.00 City of Charlottesville General Improvement Bonds, Series of 1939, � <br />to Smith, Barney & Company, 14 Wall Street, New York City, for $151,259.85, bearing <br />Sale of Bonds interest at the rate of l -3f per annum, was approved by the followring recorded vote. <br />Approved Ayes: Mr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, Mr. Huff, and Mr. Peyton. Noes: None. <br />June 5, 1939 <br />To the Members of the Council of the <br />City of Charlottesville, Virginia <br />Gentlemen: <br />Under an ordinance adopted May 6, 1939, and spread <br />in Ordinance Book 2, pages 233-235, the undersigned <br />Finance Committee was given authority to act on behalf <br />.of the City in selling at par or more $150,000.00 City <br />of Charlottesville General Improvement Bonds, Series of <br />1939, as described and set forth in said Ordinance, and <br />Report of in accordance with the said direction we herewith attach <br />Finance a signed copy of the Minutes of the meeting of the Finance <br />Committee Committee held on the 5th day of June, 1939, which shows <br />the action which your committee has taken in this matter. <br />Said bonds will be delivered in accordance with the <br />provisions of said Ordinance. <br />
