Par king <br />Tleters <br />Delinquent <br />Tax List <br />County dater <br />Connection <br />County Water <br />Connection <br />rescinded <br />Approval of <br />loan to <br />School Bd. <br />On motion the follo,,dng resolution was unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />$848.10, be and the same is hereby appropriated to pa�T to the Dual Parking <br />Meter Company, ?5/5,' of the receipts of the par -king meters from August g, <br />to September 12, 1939, both inclusive. <br />The City Treasurer submitted a list of delinquent and erroneous 1938 taxes in <br />amounts of $44,085.66 and $1,394.781 respectively. On motion by Dr. Haden, this <br />matter vjas referred to a Committee consisting of Mr. Jessup, Mr. Gleason, the <br />Commissioner of Revenue and City Auditor for investigation and report. <br />On motion by Dr. Haden, a County 7.ater Connection was °ranted to IN. H. Robertson. <br />A motion_ by Dr. Haden, that that portion of a resolution granting -Mrs. David <br />Dunlop on Ivy Road, a county water connection, which was adopted by the Council on <br />August 7, 1939, be rescinded, was unanimously adopted. <br />On motion by Dr. Haden, seconded by Mr. Gleason, the following resolution was <br />unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville t}a t <br />the Council approves the granting of a loan to the School Board of the City <br />of Charlottesville for such an amount as it may deem necessary for the fiscal <br />year 1939-40, provided that the same shall not exceed $20,000.00. <br />Said approval being given in accordance vdth Sections 656 and 675 of the <br />J,Tichie Code of Virginia. <br />On motion the meeting -..adjourned. <br />erk <br />resi ent <br />COUNCIL CIiAi:iBER, OCTOBER 21 1939 <br />The Council met in regular session on t'zis date with the following members <br />present: !Jr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, 'dr. Huff, 1.1r. Jessup, and ivir. Peyton. <br />Tv'Linutes of the fleeting of September 20, 1939, were read and approved. <br />Amanda Tyler addressed the Co,,mcil in regard to the Colored Domestic Service <br />Domestic <br />Service Center. On motion by '141r. Gleason, seconded by Dr. T.aden, the following resolution <br />Center <br />eras unanimously adopted: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />"72.00 be and the sas-ne is hereby appropriated for the Colored Domestic <br />Service Center; said appropriation to be paid $12.00 per month. <br />Piedmont On motion the matter pertaining to Piedmont Avenue was carried over to the next <br />Avenue <br />regular meeting. <br />The City Auditor submitted his Annual Report for the fiscal year ending August <br />City Auditor's <br />Annual Report 31, 1939, and on motion the following Statement of Receipts and Disbursements was <br />adopted, subject to audit: <br />City of Charlottesville, Virginia <br />Office of the City Auditor <br />STATEMENT OF RECEIPTS AND DISBURSET1ENTS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST, <br />1939, AND FOR THE FISCAL YEAR TO DATE. <br />
