On motion the follo,,dng resolution was unanimously adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that $848.10, be and the same is hereby appropriated to pa�T to the Dual Parking Meter Company, ?5/5,' of the receipts of the par -king meters from August g, to September 12, 1939, both inclusive. The City Treasurer submitted a list of delinquent and erroneous 1938 taxes in amounts of $44,085.66 and $1,394.781 respectively. On motion by Dr. Haden, this matter vjas referred to a Committee consisting of Mr. Jessup, Mr. Gleason, the Commissioner of Revenue and City Auditor for investigation and report. On motion by Dr. Haden, a County 7.ater Connection was °ranted to IN. H. Robertson. A motion_ by Dr. Haden, that that portion of a resolution granting -Mrs. David Dunlop on Ivy Road, a county water connection, which was adopted by the Council on August 7, 1939, be rescinded, was unanimously adopted. On motion by Dr. Haden, seconded by Mr. Gleason, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville t}a t the Council approves the granting of a loan to the School Board of the City of Charlottesville for such an amount as it may deem necessary for the fiscal year 1939-40, provided that the same shall not exceed $20,000.00. Said approval being given in accordance vdth Sections 656 and 675 of the J,Tichie Code of Virginia. On motion the meeting -..adjourned. erk resi ent COUNCIL CIiAi:iBER, OCTOBER 21 1939 The Council met in regular session on t'zis date with the following members present: !Jr. Gleason, Dr. Haden, 'dr. Huff, 1.1r. Jessup, and ivir. Peyton. Tv'Linutes of the fleeting of September 20, 1939, were read and approved. Amanda Tyler addressed the Co,,mcil in regard to the Colored Domestic Service Domestic Service Center. On motion by '141r. Gleason, seconded by Dr. T.aden, the following resolution Center eras unanimously adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that "72.00 be and the sas-ne is hereby appropriated for the Colored Domestic Service Center; said appropriation to be paid $12.00 per month. Piedmont On motion the matter pertaining to Piedmont Avenue was carried over to the next Avenue regular meeting. The City Auditor submitted his Annual Report for the fiscal year ending August City Auditor's Annual Report 31, 1939, and on motion the following Statement of Receipts and Disbursements was adopted, subject to audit: City of Charlottesville, Virginia Office of the City Auditor STATEMENT OF RECEIPTS AND DISBURSET1ENTS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST, 1939, AND FOR THE FISCAL YEAR TO DATE.
