ADAMS, MR. BARR, MR. HADEN9 MR. HAMM, AND MR. TEBELL. <br />THE MINUTES OF THE MEETINGS OF DECEMBER 6, 10-48 AND DECEMBER 10, 1948 <br />WERE READ AND APPROVED. <br />MR. MIDEYETTE, OF. THE STATE GAME AND INLAND FISHERIES COMMISSION, <br />APPEARED BEFORE THE COUNCIL WITH THE REQUEST THAT THE CITY PROVIDE FIFTY <br />DOLLARS (150.00) MONTHLY TOWARD THE SALARY OF A DOG WARDEN TO SERVE THE CITY <br />AND ALBEMARLE COUNTY. ON MOTION BY MR. HADEN, SECONDED BY MR. ADAMS, THE <br />FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED: <br />PROPERTY AND DESIRED TO FILE A PLAT WITH THE COURT SHOWING THE PROPOSED <br />MR. HENRY GORDON: <br />PURCHASERS EXTENSION OF JEFFERSON STREET TO INTERSECT WITH MEADE AVENUE AND SUBSEQUENT <br />"THE FARM" <br />DEDICATION THEREOF. HE STATED THAT NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN <br />LAND NECESSARY TO COMPLETE T►'IS PLAN HAD FAILED, AND REQUESTED -THE COUNCIL TO <br />GIVE ITS ASSURANCE THAT APPROPRIATE ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN BY THE CITY TO OBTAIN <br />THE LAND NECESSARY FOR THE PROPOSED EXTENSION OF JEFFERSON STREET PROVIDED THE <br />DEVELOPERS BEAR THE COST OF SUCH ACTION. THE COUNCIL ASKED THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />ASCERTAIN IF THE PROPERTY IN QUESTION COULD BE PURCHASED. <br />MR, C. VENABLE MINOR, REPRESENTING MR. CHARLES BARHAM, JR., APPEARED <br />BEFORE THE COUNCIL AND REQUESTED THE EXTENSION AND IMPROVEMENT OF GAS AND WATER <br />WATER AND GAS FACILITIES IN THE WCHV TRANSMITTER AREA. MR. P:I I P•:OR EXPLAINED THAT MR. BARHAM <br />FACILITIES - <br />TICHV TRANSMITTER PURCHASED PROPERTY IN THE ROSE HILL AREA FROM !:IRS. Ar1N I E SANDR I DGE, WHO HAD <br />AREA <br />DEDICATED CERTAIN LAND TO THE CITY WITH AN AGREEMENT THAT GAS AND WATER WOULD <br />BE AVAILABLE WITHIN A YEAR AFTER DATE OF THE DEDICATION, AND THAT THIS TIME HAD <br />EXPIRED.
