JAWCA <br />GINGER. <br />USE OF <br />FIRE PLUGS <br />TO BE <br />REPORTED. <br />TREASURER' S <br />SALARY. <br />37 <br />All ORDINAl.CE REGULATING TIM, "AIE OF JAI°AICA GINGER. <br />BE IT ORDAII4T'D,BY T17 COUNCIL OF C11ARLOTTESVILIZ,That an ordinance entitled <br />"Al, 0MITAltiCE REGULATING THE SALE OF IMAICA GINGER" ,adopted April 8th,1909 , <br />be amended and re-enacted to read as follows; <br />That it shall be unlawful for a druggist,or other retail merchant,to sell <br />within the jurisdictional limits of the City of Charlottesville any fluid Essence <br />of Jamaica Ginger, or fluid Extract of Jamaica Ginger, except on the prescription of <br />a licensed physician,which prescription shall not be refilled. Any citizen shall <br />have the privilege of applying for a prescription of this character to the City <br />Physician,who may provide it or not,as his judgement dictates;said prescription <br />shall be free of cost to such citizen and shall not be refilled. <br />Any person yiolat-ing this ordinance shall be fined not less than $10. <br />Presented & appruved ITay 17,1909, Adopted May 91909. <br />C rayor. - $re den . <br />AN ORDIZ+AIXE REGULATING THE U"E OF THE FIRE PLUGS BY OTHER PERSON'S TK.AN THE <br />SUP MMIXIMI-I DEITY OF WATER AND SEMMS OR HIS EtiiPLOYPJ:S, <br />BE IT ORDAI lM ; B'i THE COUNCIL OF CHARLOTTESVI LLE : That in all cases of the use <br />of fire plugs by other persons than employees of the water department,the persons <br />their action <br />so using these plugs shall report^to the superintendent of water the same day, <br />under a penalty of $5. for each failure to report. <br />Presented and approved vay 17,1.909. Adopted Tray 1909. <br />LL <br />qyo <br />. re en . <br />AIN ORDINAIICE FIXII;G TKE SALARY OF T?IE CITY TREASUM. <br />BF IT CRDAIT!'I',D,BY THE COUNCIL OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, That from and after the first <br />of January,1910,the treasurer shall be allowed two per centum for his services in <br />receiving and dollecting the revenues amounting to one hundred thousand dollars or <br />less, and one per centum on all revenues in excess of one hundred thousand dollars; <br />but he shall not be allowed any compensation for disbursements. <br />The word "Revenue" shall be construed to mean only money arising from taxes licenses, <br />water and gas;trat is to say,money arising from some ordinance of the council or <br />general law of the State to raise funds for the general benefit of the city. <br />In no case sliall the treasurer be entitled to any compensation for receiving or <br />disbursing funds arising from the sale of bonds or the issuing of notes by the city <br />for any purpose. <br />Presented and approved Ya J► 17,1909. <br />Mayor, <br />Adopted May 13 1 09. <br />res en . <br />
