DAGUERREAN AND PKOTOGRAPKIC ARTISTS AND CANVASSERS FOR COPYING PICTURES. <br />The specific license tax on any person engaged in business as daguerrean or photo <br />fraphic artist, shall be thirty dollars ($30). All persons canvassing ti,is city <br />for copying pictures of any description shall pay a specific license tax of fifty <br />dollars $50. Any itinerant daguerrean or rliotographic artist, yr any person taking <br />orders in this city on the ticket plan for photographs to be delivered or Nrnished <br />photographers of this city,shall pay a specific license tax of fifty dollars <br />Any license granted under this section shall not be transferable or pro rated <br />. <br />35. DEALERS IN PISTOLS,DIRKS AND BOWIE KNIUS. <br />No person firm or corporation shall sell pistols,dirks or bowie knives without <br />having first procured a ; ieense t1nerefor. Every person firm or corporation engAged, <br />the business of selling pistols,dirke or bowie knives,or rrho may hereafter engage i,�. <br />said businese,shall pay for the privilege of transacting said business a specific <br />license tax of fifty dollars ($50), and no such license shall be issued for lose <br />period than one year nor shall there be any abatement in any instance of the tax <br />upon such license by reason of the fact that the person or persons so licensed shell <br />have exercised such licensed calling for a period of lose than one year. <br />36. DOGSe <br />on every license to a keep rr,custodian, or owner of a dog,puppy,or bitch in thil,lh <br />the tax shall be one dollar ($1) on a dog or spayed bitch or two dollars ($2) on e <br />bitch, and the Treasurer shall provide at the expense of the city,and furnish withoat <br />charge to all residents of the city who shall apply therefor and pay Said license,a <br />metallic medal as provided for in the ordiance,sucb medal to be valid only for the h <br />current year. Any person violating this section by Yeeing an unlicensed dogpuppp <br />or bitch in the city shall pay a fine of five dollars (15) , and in addition the dog, <br />puppy,or bitch may be impounded until redeemed by the payment of the license tax <br />hereby imposed; and if not redeemed within five days after such impounding,such dog <br />pu!,py or bitch shall be killed in accordance with the ordinances of the city. <br />37 DYEING ESTABLI SM.19 NTS. <br />Each person conducting a dyeing establishment shall pay a specific license YU <br />of ten dollars $10) per annum. EATING HOUSES. <br />The specific license tax on any person to engage in keeping an eating house shell <br />be twenty-five dollars ($25) , and any person who shall cook or otherwise furnish for <br />compensation, diet or refreshments for casual visitors,at his house,and sold for <br />consumption therein, shall be construed to be the keeper of an eating house.There i <br />not be sold under this license on Sunday anyt1iing but sandwiches and meals prepared <br />on the premises and only where meals are regularly prepared and sold on other days, <br />39. 1191ISITING ELECTRICAL MACTII. S, etc. <br />Every person exhibiting for pay electrical machines for testing Strenwth or weight, <br />or other machines or implemente,on the streets or any location,for profit,shall pq <br />a specific license tax of five dollars ($5) per annum or two dollars $2. per week' <br />Not transferable. <br />40. EXPRESS AND TRANSPORTATION COMPANIES. <br />Every express company or railroad doing an express businese,having an office or do <br />business in this city, shall pay for the exercise of this privilege a special tax <br />od one hundred d_*Jzzx and fifty dollars ( $150) for a year or part of a year, but <br />when two companies are operated jointly under the same agency and off ice,the eombied <br />license tax shall be two hundred dollars ($200). <br />41. FEED STABLES OR WAGON YARD. <br />Each person keeping a feed stable or wagon yarf shall pay a specific license to <br />of ten dollars ($10). No pro rata <br />42. FLOUR AIM MEAL MANUFACTURE. <br />On every license to a manufacture of flour and meal the tax shall be fifty dollero <br />($50). But when such manufacturer deals in flour,meal,or other grain products ths► <br />his own manufacture he shall be,rrequired to procure a merchant's license graduated <br />by the amount of such purchases <br />43. FORTUNE TELLERS. <br />Every person practicing the art of divination,fortune telling or palmistryrwh° eh� <br />practice the same in this city, shall pay a tax of twenty-five dollars ($25) for op <br />year or ten dollars ($10) per month. FURNITURE UPHOLSTERER OR REPAIRER. <br />on every license to a furniture upholsterer or repairer the tax shall be ten <br />46.
