<br />34. DAGUERREAN AND PHOTOGRAPIC ARTISTS AND CANVASSERS FOR COPYING PICTURES.
<br />
<br />The specific license tax on any person engaged in business as daguerrean or photo-
<br />
<br />fraphic artist, shall be thirty dollars ($30). All persons canvassing this city
<br />
<br />for copying pictures of any description shall pay a specific license tax of fifty
<br />
<br />dollars $50. Any itinerant daguerrean or photographic artist, ar any person taking
<br />
<br />orders in this city on the ticket plan for photographs to be delivered or furnished
<br />
<br />photographers of this city, shall pay a specific license tax of fifty dollars
<br />
<br />Any license granted under this section shall not be transferable or pro rated.
<br />.
<br />35. DEALERS IN PISTOLS,DIRKS AND BOWIE KNIVS.
<br />
<br />No person firm or corporation shall sell pistols,dirks or bowie knives without
<br />
<br />having first procured a license therefor. Every person firm or corporation engauged in
<br />
<br />the business of selling pistols,dirke or bowie knives, or who may hereafter engage is
<br />
<br />said business, shall pay for the privilege of transacting said business a specific
<br />
<br />license tax of fifty dollars ($50), and no such license shall be issued for less
<br />
<br />period than one year nor shall there be any abatement in any instance of the tax
<br />
<br />upon such license by reason of the fact that the person or persons so licensed shall
<br />
<br />have exercised such licensed calling for a period of lose than one year.
<br />
<br />36. DOGS.
<br />
<br />On every license to a keeprr, custodian, or owner of a dog, puppy, or bitch in this_
<br />
<br />the tax shall be one dollar ($1) on a dog or spayed bitch or two dollars ($2) on a
<br />
<br />bitch, and the Treasurer shall provide at the expense of the city, and furnish without
<br />
<br />charge to all residents of the city who shall apply therefor and pay Said license,a
<br />
<br />metallic medal as provided for in the ordiance, such medal to be valid only for the
<br />
<br />current year. Any person violating this section by keeing an unlicensed dog, puppy
<br />
<br />or bitch in the city shall pay a fine of five dollars (15), and in addition the dog,
<br />
<br />puppy,or bitch may be impounded until redeemed by the payment of the license tax
<br />
<br />hereby imposed; and if not redeemed within five days after such impounding, such dog
<br />
<br />puppy or bitch shall be killed in accordance with the ordinances of the city.
<br />
<br />37 DYEING ESTABLI SM.19 NTS.
<br />
<br />Each person conducting a dyeing establishment shall pay a specific license YU
<br />
<br />of ten dollars $10) per annum. No pro rata. Not transferable.
<br />
<br />38. EATING HOUSES.
<br />
<br />The specific license tax on any person to engage in keeping an eating house shall
<br />
<br />be twenty-five dollars ($25), and any person who shall cook or otherwise furnish for
<br />
<br />compensation, diet or refreshments for casual visitors, at his house, and sold for
<br />
<br />consumption therein, shall be construed to be the keeper of an eating house.There shall
<br />
<br />not be sold under this license on Sunday anything but sandwiches and meals prepared
<br />
<br />on the premises and only where meals are regularly prepared and sold on other days,
<br />
<br />39. EXHIBITING ELECTRICAL MACHINES, etc.
<br />
<br />Every person exhibiting for pay electrical machines for testing strength or weight,
<br />
<br />or other machines or implements, on the streets or any location, for profit, shall pay
<br />
<br />a specific license tax of five dollars ($5) per annum or two dollars $2 per week.
<br />
<br />Not transferable.
<br />
<br />40. EXPRESS AND TRANSPORTATION COMPANIES.
<br />
<br />Every express company or railroad doing an express businese, having an office or doing
<br />
<br />business in this city, shall pay for the exercise of this privilege a special tax
<br />
<br />od one hundred XXXXXX and fifty dollars ($150) for a year or part of a year, but
<br />
<br />when two companies are operated jointly under the same agency and office, the combined
<br />
<br />license tax shall be two hundred dollars ($200).
<br />
<br />41. FEED STABLES OR WAGON YARD.
<br />
<br />Each person keeping a feed stable or wagon yarf shall pay a specific license to
<br />
<br />of ten dollars ($10). No pro rata
<br />
<br />42. FLOUR AND MEAL MANUFACTURE.
<br />
<br />On every license to a manufacture of flour and meal the tax shall be fifty dollers
<br />
<br />($50). But when such manufacturer deals in flour, meal, or other grain products than
<br />
<br />his own manufacture he shall be, required to procure a merchant's license graduated
<br />
<br />by the amount of such purchases
<br />
<br />43. FORTUNE TELLERS.
<br />
<br />Every person practicing the art of divination, fortune telling or palmistry, who shall
<br />
<br />practice the same in this city, shall pay a tax of twenty-five dollars ($25) for one
<br />
<br />year or ten dollars ($10) per month. Not transferable.
<br />
<br />4 4 . FOUNDRY AND MACHINE SHOPS .
<br />
<br />On every license to a foundry the tax shallbe twenty-five dollars ($25). On every
<br />
<br />license to a machine shop the tax shall be twenty-five dollars ($25). But if a _
<br />
<br />be conducted in conjunction with a macline shop the combined tax shall be forty dollars
<br />
<br />($40).
<br />
<br />45. FURNITURE UPHOLSTERER OR REPAIRER.
<br />
<br />On every license to a furniture upholsterer or repairer the tax shall be ten dollars.
<br />
<br />46. GARAGE.
<br />
<br />Every person who shall keep a garage for the hire, storage or sale of automobiles
<br />
<br />shall pay a tax of $100. and $1 additional for each vehicle for the storage capes
<br />
<br />of each vehicle over five.
<br />
<br />47. HOBBY HORSES,ETC.
<br />
<br />The license tax on hobby-horse machines, merry-go-rounds and other like machines, shall
<br />
<br />be one hundred and fifty dollars ($150) for the period of one year, or twenty-five
<br />
<br />dollars ($25) per week for six running days for each machine operated, but no license
<br />
<br />shall be issued for a less period than one week. Not transferable. No pro rata.
<br />
<br />46. HOTELS.
<br />
<br />Any person who shall for compensation furnish lodging, diet, and entertainmet for
<br />
<br />travelers, sojourners guests or boarders in his house, and sell by retail wine, spirit-
<br />
<br />uous,or malt ligors, or any mixture of them, shall be deemed to keep a hotel, and the
<br />
<br />specific license tax which shall be paid for keeping such hotel shall be four hundred
<br />
<br />dollars, and an additional tax of two XXXXXXX dollars for each available room in
<br />
